Compositing Visual Effects: Essentials for the Aspiring Artist

Very informative, easy to follow, just what I hoped for.

As a professional in TV post production I'm very self-educated when it comes to compositing. However, there have been gaping holes in my knowledge. This book really filled in the gaps. I appreciate how thoroughly it goes "under the hood" in explaining various techniques... including those which are just now becoming available in mainstream programs. I'm finding that since reading this I do a lot less guessing about how to tackle individual compositing problems.Steve is a remarkably gifted teacher. He's as fun to read as he is to listen to in his online classes.

Is a good read, especially for beginners in visual composting. I guess I gave it four stars not five as it isn't comprehensive on the subject, but it does serve as a good overview or starting point for beginners.

as a VFX artist currently active in the industry for 7 years, I decided to pick up this book our of curiosity. I'm glad I did, up & coming vfx artist will love the material covered in this book. A MUST!

Great into to compositing

Already got the book. Very helpful and good as an indtroductory book for someone who is new to Digital Compositing :)

Very nice book.!

This is a great book for people who want to understand what compositing software does. It explains generic workflow for tracking, match moving, creating mattes (for cutting out moving images), warping images and wire removal.I am currently trying to teach myself Fusion (now free) and Hitfilm. Although it is not software specific, it is a very useful source when trying to find the right type of tool to do a specific task.

Good book for people that want to start compositing.

Nuke 101 better

Very basic for whom is already in the vfx industry but also very informative and well produced.
