I installed this under a door that had a noticeable gap, and I was surprised by how much of a difference it made. Installation took less than a minute, simply slide it onto the bottom of the door and adjust the position as needed. No tools, screws, or adhesive were required. Can it block out light? Yes. It significantly reduced the light coming through the gap under my door. While it may not create a complete blackout seal depending on your door and floor type, it does an excellent job minimizing light infiltration. Does it help with soundproofing? Yes, to a degree. I noticed a reduction in noise coming from the other side of the door. It won't completely soundproof a room, but it helps muffle sounds and reduces the amount of noise that travels through the door gap. Does it work on tile floors? Yes. I tested it on tile flooring, and it glided smoothly without catching or dragging. The material seems designed to move easily across hard surfaces while maintaining a good seal. The outer material feels durable, and the foam inserts provide enough structure to stay in place without feeling flimsy. Despite being lightweight, it seems sturdy enough for daily use and repeated opening and closing of the door. One thing I appreciated is that it helped reduce drafts. One of my best purchases from Amazon. I’ve been shopping here for years, even when they sold only books. I buy most everything from Amazon, and this door draft stopper, simple as it is, is one of my all time favorites. It simply works. Measure your door and buy the size that works best. Works great, even on fairly plush carpet. Installs very easily, the color choices let me pick the best one to blend in, fits the door well, and so far is staying put really well. It's insulating enough to keep the drafts from coming through. Definitely beats the rolled up towel I was using before! I LOVE that it moves with the door, so it's always in place. The velcro that keeps the foam pieces in place is the best size adjustment I've seen available. You can get the size exactly right.

A little flimsy when opening and closing door. Works well when in place. Cuts down on drafts.

Helps cut down the sound from my office to the hallway. With two young kids I would say it is a good buy. It doesn't completely block out the sound but does help. Super easy to use and lightweight.

It is sound proof and the appropriate length but it’s not a fabric material so it makes a very loud sound when rubbing against the hard wood floor. Make it’s difficult to sneak in/out of kids room without making a lot of noise.

If done correctly it seals the bottom well enough to prevent little critters from getting into your room. Helps with keeping noise down from coming in or out.

We recently replaced all of our carpeting with tile flooring. We didn’t anticipate that there was going to be a larger gap between our doors and floors. The family member it bothered most is our teen daughter. I experimented with several draft stopping solutions and this product is by far my favorite! With the tubular foam inserts, it is easy to customize the fit for non-standard door widths, I used a serrated bread knife to cut off the excess foam before siding the pieces into the 2-sided draft stopper pockets (which close with Velcro). I purchase the dark brown version of this product. I am happy with how it looks with our dark wood doors. It’s lightweight, gliding smoothly as you open and close the door. I highly recommended this product to anyone looking for an attractive yet affordable solution to cover gaps between your doors and floors.
