The OE version of this product is stupid expensive (IMO). The fit, quality of construction, function, and every other aspect of the Gearwiz Ultra Fine Filter Basket is 100% on par with the original part. Set the two pieces side-by-side and you cannot tell the difference. Now for the cleaning, my pool is in AZ (desert) so I get this fine layer of silty, dusty, dirt in my pool 24/7. Constantly brushing it but all that does is move the dirt around. Dropped in my Dolphin Proteus DX4 with the NEW ULTRA FINE FILTER BASKET and did one cleaning cycle. I'm already a fan! I can see the true color of the pebble tec again without the layer of silt on the bottom. After cleaning out the basket, I can see that it 100% did its job...yuck! For clarification, I ran the normal basket first (yesterday) to get the big stuff (windy last few days) and then put this in today to get the finer particles. Definitely a fan, especially at the price that Gearwiz offers!

This should be the standard
Using this in my Maytronic bot has helped me keep my pool in tip top condition - this filter is so fine that it is able to vacuum up dirt and algea. It has vacuumed up dirt from a patio renovation, removed algea that was on the walls after we were out of town for about 9 days and helped me get the pool back to crystal clear and swimming in a short amount of time. I also love the size and the ease of cleaning this basket - the bottom that opens up is genius.
