Trusted and tested product
Works perfectly, sent to my cousin in the national guard patrolling the Texas Mexico border. It's helped him run through brush with ease while completing missions.

Stiff bottom
Nice hard shell bottom but the tops clip over your belt to hold them up. When you move, bend, turn and walk they pull on your belt. Takes some getting used to not have them feel like they are falling off or pulling your pants down.

On the smaller side
I am 5'2 & these fit pretty snug. I wear a large or around a size 12 pants. The lower part fit pretty tightly when I buckled them but calves are on the thicker side. These definitely aren't made for the larger American but they suited me well. I live in South Georgia so snakes are very common. I've been able to get a lot more outside work done a lot quicker because I don't have to be as cautious as when I didn't have any protection. I can imagine these being a lifesafe. These are also perfect for keeping briars off your pants.

Pretty good for smaller people.
These are pretty good and fairly well made, but definitely on the smaller side. I don't think they would fit anyone with thick legs or who is on the tall side, so be aware of that. I haven't been bitten by a snake yet so I can't testify to its effectiveness, but it's definitely better than just wearing a pair of jeans. Hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking.

Well built, not as comfy as they could be
These are well built. Stitching, straps etc are all great quality. Functionally, no problems. I found them a bit awkward to put on. I also found it tight and a bit awkward around the ankles, see the second picture where it's sort of folded and not smooth. Not super uncomfortable, but I would notice that I was wearing them after 5 minutes, these dont fit like a second skin or anything. It was also just on the edge of snug at the top. I have large legs, any bigger and these wouldn't fit. The are also, while not loud, not silent either. I had hoped to wear these while bird hunting, so walking through dense bush, in the hopes of saving my pants from brambles. But I don't think these will be that comfortable for many hours long walk in the bush. That being said, I've no comment on their ability to guard against snake bite. I do know for general protection. In the bush/field, these are great quality but could be made more comfortable.
