The Ultimate Smart Cleaning
When it comes to robotic vacuums, Roborock has consistently pushed the boundaries of technology and convenience. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is no exception—it’s marketed as a top-of-the-line vacuum and mop combo, complete with an advanced docking station and AI-powered features. But does it live up to the hype? I spent a few weeks putting the S8 MaxV Ultra through its paces to see if it’s truly worth the investment. Unboxing and Setup Straight out of the box, the S8 MaxV Ultra exudes premium quality. The vacuum itself feels solid and well-built, with a sleek matte black finish. But the star of the show is the RockDock Ultra—a beast of a docking station that handles everything from charging to self-emptying and even washing and drying the mop pads. While it’s larger than most docks, the added functionality justifies the space it occupies. Setting up the S8 MaxV Ultra was a breeze. The Roborock app guided me through every step, from connecting to Wi-Fi to mapping out my home. Within 20 minutes, the robot was ready to clean. Key Features and Performance Vacuuming Power The S8 MaxV Ultra boasts a 6,000Pa suction power, making it one of the most powerful robotic vacuums on the market. In my tests, it picked up everything from fine dust to larger debris like cereal and pet hair. It performed exceptionally well on both carpets and hard floors, thanks to its dual rubber brush system, which reduces hair tangles and improves pickup. Mopping The mopping system is equally impressive. The robot uses vibrating mop pads that scrub floors at 3,000 vibrations per minute, mimicking the action of a handheld mop. In my experience, it handled sticky messes like dried coffee stains surprisingly well. What really sets it apart is the mop-lifting feature, which automatically raises the pads when the robot detects carpet, so you can vacuum and mop in the same run without soaking your rugs. AI Obstacle Avoidance The Reactive 3D Obstacle Avoidance system uses a combination of cameras and LiDAR to navigate around objects. I tested this by scattering various obstacles—shoes, toys, and even pet bowls. The S8 MaxV Ultra navigated around everything with ease, rarely getting stuck. The front camera also lets you view your home in real-time through the app, which doubles as a handy security feature. Docking Station The RockDock Ultra is the crown jewel of this system. It automatically empties the vacuum’s dustbin, washes and dries the mop pads, and refills the water tank. This means you can go weeks without having to interact with the robot. The self-cleaning function is particularly helpful, as it ensures the mop pads stay fresh between cleaning cycles. Mapping and App Control The mapping capabilities are top-notch. The robot created an accurate 3D map of my home within minutes, allowing me to set no-go zones, cleaning schedules, and even custom cleaning modes for specific rooms. The app also supports voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, adding to its convenience. Real-Life Performance Daily Cleaning I used the S8 MaxV Ultra in a household with pets and a toddler—arguably one of the toughest environments for any cleaning device. It handled daily messes effortlessly, from pet hair to snack crumbs. The ability to clean while I’m out of the house is a huge time-saver, and I love coming home to spotless floors. Edge Cleaning Robotic vacuums often struggle with edges and corners, but the S8 MaxV Ultra does a commendable job. While it doesn’t match the precision of manual vacuuming, its edge-cleaning mode ensures minimal dirt is left behind. Battery Life With a 5,200mAh battery, the robot can clean for up to 180 minutes on a single charge. In my 2,000-square-foot home, it never ran out of battery mid-clean. If it ever does, it automatically returns to the dock to recharge and resumes where it left off. Noise Levels Despite its powerful suction, the S8 MaxV Ultra is relatively quiet, especially in standard mode. Even in max suction mode, the noise is manageable—comparable to a low hum. Pros and Cons Pros 1. Powerful Cleaning: The 6,000Pa suction and vibrating mop pads deliver excellent results. 2. Hands-Free Maintenance: The RockDock Ultra handles emptying, washing, and drying, reducing manual upkeep. 3. Advanced Navigation: Reactive AI ensures efficient and obstacle-free cleaning. 4. Customizable Cleaning: The app offers extensive options for mapping, scheduling, and room-specific cleaning. 5. Great for Pets: The dual rubber brushes are perfect for homes with pets, minimizing hair tangles. Cons 1. Price: At over $1,500, it’s a significant investment. 2. Dock Size: The RockDock Ultra takes up a lot of space, which might be an issue in smaller homes. 3. Initial Setup Cost: You’ll need to replace disposable parts like filters and mop pads over time, adding to the long-term cost. Who Is It For? The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is ideal for: • Busy Professionals: Hands-free features like self-emptying and mop cleaning mean less time spent on chores. • Pet Owners: Its powerful suction and tangle-free brushes are excellent for managing pet hair. • Families with Kids: Handles daily messes and sticky spills with ease. • Tech Enthusiasts: The AI-powered features and app integration make it a joy to use. Final Verdict The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra isn’t just a robotic vacuum—it’s a complete home cleaning system. While it comes with a hefty price tag, the combination of powerful cleaning, advanced features, and hands-free maintenance justifies the cost for those who want the best. It’s not perfect, but it’s as close as it gets in the world of robotic cleaners. If you’re willing to invest in cutting-edge technology and crave a truly hands-off cleaning experience, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is worth every penny. For me, it’s transformed cleaning from a chore into an afterthought, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Absolutely worth every penny
I was so skeptical of buying another robot cleaner because of my last two purchases were absolutely horrible. But I took a chance and I bought this one after doing a lot and I mean a lot of studying and I'm so happy that I did. My wife and I absolutely love this cleaner. I love how it works I love the software and it actually does a great job at vacuuming and mopping. We have 2,000 square feet of five attached rooms and it goes from room to room and maps out each and everyone. It knows where everything's at. It shows you on the map that this is a table or this is a chair and it even will map out of someone leaves a sneaker or shoe in the middle of the room and let you know about it. It cleans the edges in the corners perfectly and we also have two sectional rugs that it does really well. The rest of the home are hard floors and at mops everything really well. The best thing to do when you get this is to make shorts charged water is in the tank turn it on and let it map out whatever you want done and then do your adjustments in the software. I was somewhat intimidated with the software at first not understanding how it would work but it was very simple. There's so many different things that you can do just don't get yourself overwhelmed take your time for a few days and learn the software but let the robot do the work. Would I buy another one? In a heartbeat. I absolutely love this machine and we are going to buy one for our son and send it to him. This is what we expected from our first robots that didn't even come close, but this row back does exactly what it's supposed to do and that is to clean floors and it does a great job. I could tell you all kinds of fun things about it talking and the camera coming on and showing me a picture of our cat in the middle of the room and all kinds of other things but I'll let you do your own investigating. HAVE fun You will love it.

Love love loved it until it stop emptying the dirty water bin
Where to start. I absolutely love it when It works. Got this in July purchased at rhe end of June. Been working amazing. Save me time and I love coming home to clean floors. Then the pump to put the dirty water in the dirty bin just stopped working. Since it's outside the return window and Amazon states to contact the manufacturer. I did. We spent 2 days troubleshoot. They said they wanted to replaced it. Then they said ohh you live in Hawaii. Contact Amazon. SMH so I did and customer services at Amazon bent over backwards to help. So now I have to mail it out with the label Amazon sent me. I have to pay for shipping up front. Also a $300ish restock fee will come out of the over all price. Then to contact Amazon after they get it to get my shipping cost refunded and the restocking fee refunded. So alot upfront and then a refund later. The manufacturer was a disappointment. They troubleshot the issue and wanted to replace it but didnt want to ship it to me. Sad. Once I get the refund all squared away, I am really nervous on purchasing it again. Like I said I loved it but the problem I had seem to happen to alot of customers after my research. This is such a heart breaking feeling lol. No seriously it is. Amazing but the process to get it replaced is too much. All on the manufacturers end not Amazon. Amazon keep doing your goodness pls. Man.. feeling let down by Roborock..Roborock I am all ears if you wish to make it right. ***Update: manufacturer contacted me and said bc I live in hawaii they do not send replacements. So since it was a mistake on their part. They sent me a prepaid label to ship it back and will refund me my money to purchase a new one. If anything changes, I will update.

Amazing Robot: Perfect Mapping & Mopping
I am extremely impressed with this automatic vacuum. For the last few years, I've been using a Roomba j6+, and it wasn't working well for me. It felt like it struggled on the carpet, it could never clean corners so dirt/hair would build up, and worst of all it would get stuck on just about anything. After doing some research and arriving at this being one of the best robot vacuums out there, I pulled the trigger despite the hefty price- and I have NOT regretted it at all. This vacuum does an amazing job cleaning. After my roomba j6+, I went out and got an even deeper carpet, and this Roborock has had no issues cleaning it. And I wasn't even aware of what I was missing out on without having a mopping robot cleaner before now. It really makes my floors feel and look clean. It's a noticeable difference from the last few years. Whenever I go to remove the dirty water, I'm surprised by just how much and how dirty it is. But by far the greatest thing about this vacuum over my last is its obstacle avoidance and mapping. My old roomba would get stuck on the carpet, stuck on chords or cat toys, and if it avoided those it would NEVER get past my barstools. Id wake up to have to find where the vacuum ended up, it be out of battery, and I need to carry it to the docking station. The camera and LiDAR system for this Roborock vacuum completely alleviates this pain point. I never find it having trouble getting back, and the map will even show me the obstacles it had avoided. A few other neat things I appreciate: - the app is very clean, and well organized-- but voice commands and schedules make it so that you dont even need to worry about that either - You can remote control it! Not sure how useful this is, but if you ever are on vacation or away from home and want to find your pet, you can do so. There's even a button to "Find Your Pet", and it will find your animal and let you know it found it. - the cleaning sound (removing dirty and cleaning mop) when it goes back to dock isnt quiet by any means, but is noticeably quieter than my previous vacuum. - it's not much larger than my previous vacuum - Replacing water/soap/cleaning out dirty water is simple. I keep it near the kitchen so I can easily do these things - connecting to wifi was a breeze and i haven't had any issues from a smart-home perspective at all Overall I can easily recommend this vacuum. If you're willing to pay the expensive price, I can vouch that I haven't been disappointed by it's performance. Not sure what else you could ask for from a Robot vacuum.

Sooo worth it!
It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. With two dogs and what they shed and track in, this keeps the floors clear of the detritus of everyday living. I love the damp mopping feature. It doesn’t do a deep mopping, obviously, but it keeps a clean floor clean. It’s not going to get up get dried-on gunk, even with the features that detect high grime areas. But it does a great job keeping small spills or footprints and dust at bay. Every feature of this machine works as advertised. I’ve used it daily for several months now, and it empties perfectly unless it has picked up something that doesn’t easily get in or out ( think plastic bread tags or dryer sheets), it washes and dries the mop pad ( periodically even during its cleaning cycle). It is pretty quiet even in mega suction mode. The battery charge discharges to between 40 and 50 %, doing about 400 sqft at its maximum suction and double pass cleaning. With the cam and remote control, find stuff that rolled under the sofa easily! Locate your pets from the office using the phone app! It will not work with 5G wireless routers, so you need to be sure you have the 2.4 standard. So far, after several months of daily use, I cannot think of any major issues. It handles floor and carpet easily, knows when it is on a carpet and suspends mopping. It even handles my bathroom throw rugs. It’s the best robot cleaner I’ve owned, and I’ve had them for a while! It’s pricey but all the features make it totally worth it. As with any robot cleaner, it can get tangled up and jammed (think phone charging cords or random coke bottle caps, or your knitting…) so some diligence is needed in picking up/hiding possible obstacles. When it jams, it suspends the routine and eventually goes to sleep to save battery. If you’re not around to unjam it, just send it back to the dock to charge and clean the jam later. It will notify you if anything is amiss, such as jamming, getting trapped (rare) or running low in the water tank, or full dirty water tank that needs emptied. It also keeps tabs on replaceable parts and lets you know about when you should swap them out for new ones. It does NOT notify you when the vacuum bag is full, so be sure to check it and the on-board filter and dust bin regularly. Bottom line, do it! It will make your life easier and cleaner! Quality performance and product.

I'd say worth the money
I'll just say it right at the gate this was certainly more money than I had planned to spend on a product like this however depending on your wants and needs, I would say this is certainly worth the money spent. This thing vacuums and mops as well as empties and cleans. What my wife used to do daily is now handled by it and we do a deep clean once every week or two depending on schedules.. it's fairly large, so be prepared to have a place to set it up and there's a bit of set up involved in terms of adding water putting in all the pieces together and then obviously syncing it to your phone and Wi-Fi. But once you get the thing set up, it's pretty awesome. I've had very little issues with it getting stuck or knowing where to go and the quality of the work which I have had other model struggle with has been fantastic. We have a dog and two kids were in and out of the house a lot and this thing vacuums almost as good as an upright if not as good follow that up with the mopping option, which is absolutely fantastic and our house is always clean and ready. There's also neat little features that I probably don't take as much advantage of, but I think some people would appreciate you can call it to a particular room that you're in to clean up a mess you can drive it yourself from your smart phone, there's little quality of life things that it handles really well. Me personally I found a profile that worked best for us and just kind of said it and forget it and that's the way that I like it. Again it navigate really well. We tried to do our best to kind of set up the room so it can be efficient but if we leave the house and forgot it still does a wonderful job of navigating around and getting all the dirty spots great suction, and even the mop which I know can be lacking in some models is great.

EDIT: Need to manually empty dustbin often. Defeats the purpose.
EDIT: Since writing this review I have been contacted several times by Roborock's customer support team. They say that they have sent my concerns to their R&D department. Perhaps they will issue a firmware update to correct the problem, perhaps not. They said that they could not issue a full refund because I was out of the 30 day return window, which is true and fair. They did however offer me a partial refund which I thought was quite nice of them (and I get to keep the robot). If, at some point in the future, they do issue a fix for the problem I will again update this review to reflect that info. I have two big dogs and a cat. They leave a lot of hair around. The S8 Max V Ultra is super automated in every way, returning to dock to perform various functions when and as needed (wash the mop, change out dirty water for clean, etc). It also empties the dustbin, but only after a full vac and mop cycle. My problem is that it takes well over an hour to clean my kitchen, foyer, living room and dining room (all hardwood) and in that time the small dustbin fills with dog/cat hair several times, probably about every ten minutes. The S8 can't detect that the dustbin is full. It just starts to leave behind clumps of hair that the dustbin can no longer fit. I have spoken to customer service and suggested they implement an update to allow a return to dock and emptying of dustbin on a user selectable timetable. In my case I would choose every ten minutes. Customer service made several suggestions, but none that address my actual problem. THE DUSTBIN NEEDS TO BE EMPTIED MORE FREQUENTLY. As it stands, I need to manually stop the robot and empty the dustbin by hand every ten minutes; a real shame for a product that is capable of automatically emptying the dustbin as well as so many other automated tasks. BTW, you can say, "Hey Rocky, empty the dustbin." But it responds by saying it can't do that unless it's at the dock. So you can say "Return to dock," and when it gets there, "Empty dustbin." But afterwards it will not continue the cleaning cycle where it left off, rather, it starts over again. Of course, I could vacuum or sweep up the hair before using the S8, but how ridiculous is that?, All in all, very impressed with most of the technology but I would not buy again or recommend for anyone with dog hair issues due to this (sadly fixable) fatal flaw.

A Love Story in Three Acts (WARNING: It Ends Badly)
My robot's name is Thor, Vacuum of Thunder. I've been in a relationship with Thor for over a year and a half, and like most long-term relationships, it started with fireworks and ended with me on the floor, a Phillips screwdriver in hand, muttering to myself. Act I: The Honeymoon Phase It vacuums beautifully. Sort of. The thing navigates the house with the confidence of someone who just got a new GPS and refuses to admit they're lost. Sure, Thor gets stuck near my Sonos sub, and I had to create a no-go zone. But I was impressed. I was smitten. I recommended the S8 MaxV Ultra to my friends. The mopping? Less impressive. If your definition of "mopped" is "slightly damp floor that looked at a wet cloth from across the room," congratulations, you're going to love it. Act II: The Red Flags Here's a fun fact nobody mentioned in the marketing materials: this robot broadcasts its own hidden 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Always. Even after setup. Even when it has no earthly reason to. So even though it's on your own 2.4 gHz network as a client, it insists on broadcasting a hidden (well, not hidden to the WiFi Explorer app) network. And, cherry on top, it broadcasts on whatever channel your WiFi is using. I suspect it's sending out a beacon to a robot army, and an attack is imminent. Act III: The Breakup At one year and five months (out of warranty) the front middle wheel snapped off. Not the drive wheels. The little free-spinning plastic guy in the front. A wheel so simple, it's only attached-by-two-screws. I assumed I could just, you know, buy a new one from Roborock. Nope. I could not buy a new one. Roborock doesn't have a spare parts store. Roborock's support informed me that I needed to mail the entire robot in for repair. For a wheel. Attached by two Phillips head screws. A repair so straightforward your grandma could do it. I found the OEM part on eBay for $19. I fixed it in about four minutes. Roborock, if you're reading this: your service sucks better than your robots. Epilogue: The Current Situation The robot now refuses to dock itself with any reliability. It wanders up to the dock, backs in, and then just gives up most of the time. If you physically place it on the dock, it charges fine, which tells me the drive wheels are likely the culprit. The robot has essentially become a cat. It works when it wants to, ignores instructions, has caused several unexplained network problems, and must be physically placed where you want it. Bottom line: Okay vacuum, subpar mop, secret WiFi sabotage artist, non-existent support, and drive wheel issues. Would I buy it again? No way. I'm eyeing the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni. Anyone have any experience with it?

The best robot vacuum cleaner
It does everything itself: empties the dustbin, washes the mop, dries the mop, washes the platform under the mop. Amazing device for the laziest people. The only problem is lack of original accessories available on Amazon in UAE.
