This a solid straight razor. Quality is great and the blades are extremely sharp. I cut myself a few times on my neck my first time shaving with it but that was beginner error not the razor, fixed my approach after that. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm only on my second blade, but I only shave when I start to see the hair on my neck start to lengthen, that's the bulk of what I use this for as I have a beard and I only shave what's above the lines on my face and it ain't much. The main reason I got this was because all I had was a cartridge razor when I started regrowing my beard and nearly everytime I shaved I messed up my lines. So I opted to get this and it's done its job, lines have never been this sharp or even and I get a nice smooth shave every time. I haven't touched that cartridge razor since. Now let me be clear, the model I got was the Warrior, all this negativity I've seen seems to be aimed at the Crusader. People are saying it's flimsy or made of plastic. I can assure you that's not the case with this one. It's a solid quality razor with plenty of grip room. Aside from that first shave I've had no issues. Fixed what I was doing wrong and its been a smooth irritation free shave ever since.

I have been using a double-edged razor blade for years and have heard all number of horror stories about how difficult it is to get the hang of a standard straight razor. I've been considering the purchase of one for some time now but really didn't want to spend the triple digits necessary to get a nice, high-quality one. At least not yet, anyway . . . I found this on Amazon and saw that it had a great number of positive reviews. I liked the way it looked and liked that the blades were disposable. I'm an amateur bladesmith, so I have all sorts of sharpening tools available to me, but the disposable nature of the blades appealed to me since I wasn't sure if this was something I'd wind up committing to in the long run. Wow. Just wow. I was sold in no time at all. I will say that it takes me a bit longer to use this than using my regular DE bladed razor, but I'm OK with that. I can shave with the DE blade from start to finish in less than 10 minutes. I've not been able to shave with the straight razor and be finished in less than 30 minutes. That's not a complaint, though. It's actually kind of cathartic. I generally take a shower just before going to bed and I'm typically up until around 1 or 2 in the morning. I'll start warming my shaving brush and shave cream up before getting into the shower so that when I get out everything is ready. I generally have some old blues or jazz (Miles Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, or something similar) playing on my speakers while I'm showering, so I have that playing in the background. Then I lather up and get to work. It's sooo easy to get lost in the ritual that I forget that this is actually supposed to be a chore. It's such a pleasant experience that I'm almost sorry when I'm finally done and have to leave the bathroom. This razor cuts away stubble like it's butter. Given that I'm something of a novice with it I'm not ashamed to admit that I *have* actually cut my face once or twice, but they've all been relatively superficial. That being said, though, it's a great deal easier to manipulate than I had convinced myself that it would be. I'll reiterate that I *did* cut myself a couple of times, but not much more than I did when I first started using my DE razor. All in all, I love this razor. It feels good in the hand. There's a good sense of balance to it when you hold it. You can feel the stubble falling away from your face as the blade glides over your skin. It's just absolutely amazing. If you've ever been considering the purchase of a straight razor and have been on the fence about it then do yourself a favor and buy one of these. You might wind up sacrificing a bit of your skin to the blade gods, but it's a worthwhile trade. You'll be glad you made the transition. Trust me.

The exposed blade at 2mm is a bit trickier to navigate if you are new. If you want a travel kit or a closer shave, this is great, but if you're new, go for a slightly less protrusive design

The blades are sharp and gives me a close shave. Changing the razor blade is also easy. Does what I bought it for so I’m happy with it.

have purchased a few straight razors before, but this one just feels off. I have larger hands and the monarch blade feels way too large and light; just improper balance. my other 2 qualms with the razor are that a) the metal nubs that are meant to keep the blade in place, don't really do their job, so the blade has shifted a few times when retracting, and b) the blade pertrudes [for shave] a bit too much for my liking. With all the razors I've had, the blade has been ~.0625 or less from the edge which makes for a cleaner + quicker shave. The further out the blade, the easier it is to cut yourself. Maybe it'll take some getting used to but the whole unit is very light* & pretty large so you'll need a deft hand to operate well.

Product is a very good! Very satisfied with the quality and appearance. Also a very reasonable price!

Had to return razor as (a) blade sat too high and (b) wouldn’t stay in place, even when locked in. I like a straight-edged razor as much as the next man — however as I did not want a sliced jugular, I opted for a full refund. Thankfully this was easy with Amazon’s wonderful returns policy. Look elsewhere, unless you want to re-enact a scene from Sweeney Todd on yourself.

Let's just say, for what I paid for, the price is decent. Consider the shavette as a bundle bonus with the blades being the major focus. The blades are great. That said, the shavette itself is lacking. The handle is flimsy. The hinge is quite stiff and it is not adjustable The blade holder is imprecise and require some DIY before the blade would sit properly on the indents. The clamping force makes blade insertion difficult. Due diligence required for tactful insertion of the holder core. The exposed blade is quite aggressive... The above last three comments indicates that this shavette is definitely not for beginners nor for the non-DIY'ers. Potential buyers take note.

Would give 5 stars for the look but can’t due to the amount of times I cut my face, lol. It’s definitely my technique as I’m still learning to use it properly, but I’m a man so I won’t stop .I’ll bleed to learn to use it better or die trying, lol
