Good for Downward Scratchers that Claw Area Rugs
I think cats all have their own preferences for scratching: upward scratcher (sofas, curtains) vs downward (area rugs, carpets, furniture surfaces). I also think they have a textile preference for what feels good to claw into (shag, dense weave, nubby, etc). That being said, it is hard to say how cats will react to a product. My cat is more interested in our area rugs than any piece of furniture or scratch post, so we found this flat scratcher to be fantastic for our cat. It has two different scratch textures and a little feather toy attached that has held up quite well so far. The only negative comment is that it does have a light backing surface which doesn’t create a quality issue in durability, but only aesthetically because I’ve had it for 2 weeks and it still doesn’t lay flat (it still is popped up in the areas that were folded for shipping. That being said, I’m buying a couple more to put down in the areas my cat normally would claw the area rugs since she does like the texture and position of this product, which I think is well made except for that it didn’t go flat.

Great Mat, Toy Came Off
I like this scratching mat because it makes it easier to discourage my cats from scratching the couch. It came with a toy, but after a few months, it fell off, probably because my cats play with is so aggressively that they ripped it off. I also like how it collects any tiny furballs that may come off when they play too roughly (even though I do brush them), which makes it convenient to simply pluck them off instead of having to sweep the entire area. The only complaint I have is the color, and yes, I’m being pedantic. I dislike how the mat is divided into three sections with only the middle one made of a thicker material. The sides seem to be made of a coarse fabric, which I can’t imagine would be satisfying to scratch. The colors of the three sections don’t match, which makes it a little offputting to me. Otherwise, it’s a great mat, which I would buy again, though I wish the toy were attached a bit more securely.

Great for traveling.
I use it primarily in the car when traveling with my cat. He loves the traction and security it provides.

Two thumbs up
My cat is a jerk who only wants to claw the carpet. She's destroyed it. She has all sorts of scratching toys, but she'll claw the carpet directly next to the toy instead. Decided to try this mat hoping that she'll be more inclined to use something that's more flush with the carpet. It just came today, and she seems to dig it. She clawed it a few times. As for the product itself, it's as expected. It seems pretty sturdy to withstand some clawing, and once it flattens out it doesn't seem like it'll move around too much. The dangling feather toy probably won't last the month, though. We're both pleased with it.

Cat's like it but...
When ordering this product, I was under the impression that there was a pocket in the mat where the catnip could be placed. Instead, it came with a baggy of catnip that you have to sprinkle it on top of the mat. Not what I was looking for.

Cat LOVES the pad and CATNIP
My pet cat, Wesley LOVES this scratch pad. I opened up the package, sprinkled the cat nip all over the pad and my cat immediately was attracted to it. Started scratching the middle section of the pad and is playing with the little toy and has actually ripped it off already cause he played with it so much! I will get more of these once he is finished demolishing this one, instead of our carpet in our new apartment!

Cat likes it
My cat doesn’t actually use this to scratch but it has become his “my place to sit” mat. If I move the mat to a Place he’s scratching at hoping he’ll scratch the mat he goes there and sits on it. If my husband and I are in the adjoining room he doesn’t care. He’s not leaving the mat!!!! Cats are very interesting.

Not approved by Little Grey, but cute idea though.
As soon as the mat arrived I laid the mat by the place Little Grey will not stop scratching with catnip sprinkled on it. He laid on the mat for about 5 minutes and destroyed the flimsy toy. He has not touched it since. Maybe I can use it for an expensive door mat lol!
