I ordered 2 pieces of the dark blue ice pack but received only 1 dark blue pack and a smaller light blue one. The bigger dark blue ice pack is as described. It covers a big area and the 2 straps give good compression. The smaller light blue ice pack doesn’t cover much area and has only 1 strap. So, it covers less area and gives less compression. Not so effective.

I injured my foot at work, and a coworker had this in the freezer, so I tried it. I liked it so much that I bought one for myself. Pros: 1. The shape is great because it makes it much more versatile than a typical ice pack. The straps allow it to fit around just about any extremity joint, and because they're so long, it can also work for your shoulder or even your back (depending on your build). 2. Long-lasting cold. On my foot, it stays cold for about 1.5 hours, which I think is very reasonable. Cons: 1. Sometimes the long straps can be a little annoying because the Velcro sticks to itself while you're trying to wrap it around. I solved that by folding the Velcro end of the strap back on itself twice before wrapping it. Once the ice pack is in place, I unfold it once and fasten it like normal. 2. It can take a while to get cold (the manufacturer recommends about 4 hours), but I think the tradeoff is worth it because it stays cold for so long once it is frozen.

Excellent product when recovering from knee and hip surgery. High quality, easy to use, large size helps distribute ice relief over larger area. Velcro straps were durable and didn’t easily become detached. Having 2 options for use (flicked side or plain side) helped when we needed more cooling effect. Product reached desires frozen state within short amount of time and allowed for at least an hour of temperature retention before needing to be returned back to freezer.
