The fuzzy socks are rolled up in the center and look almost like hot chocolate to me!!! The mug is a little smaller than the regular coffee mugs, and holds 13 ounces. The socks are warm and fuzzy - but will have to wait until colder weather as we hit 86 degrees today. I've washed the mug in the dishwasher several times now and no issues with fading, etc. The listing recommends hand washing, but no worries if you put t in the dishwasher a time or two!Anyway - I love this mug and I think it is important to remember how awesome you are!!!
