Holds up to the heat.
This product was excellent and easy to use. It gave a nice smooth finish and did not crack or fall apart. I used it on a manufactured home fire insert and it extended it life. I was afraid I would have to replace the insert.

Satisfied
It is easy to mix too much water in the mix. Go slowly with the water. Time will tell about how it holds up.

Appears to work as kiln lid repair refractory
Mixed 3:1 a bit thick for brushing, thinned a bit and brushed on after spritzing with H20. Dried hard by day 5. Rutland suggested 4:1 to me for parge coat but that came out like heavy mortar ( which I did use to fill in a few missing chunks of lid firebrick.) Sands down with some effort, makes a mess but vacs up well. Saw someone parging using thinned mix and sponge. Rutland said do not do that, too weak if thinned to sponge on consistency. They also said this was the correct product.

Petty Good Product
Actually pretty good. My house's former owner had removed some bricks from the chimney box and I used this mortar to lay them back and to redo the joints between the existing bricks. So far no cracks or problems after more than a year.

This was very easy to mix and apply. I needed to temperar my fireplace brick floor. This product worked great, and dried quickly. Did the exact job it was meant to do! It blended in nicely.

3 pounds, 4 ounces of water
if you think you need one, you'd better order 3. With ciment, like chocolate, there's never enough. It's a fine powder, easy for moulding.
