Does it control odors and fruit flies?

The fitted lid and activated-charcoal filter help trap kitchen compost odors and limit pest access. Keep the lid closed, empty the bin regularly, and clean spills promptly.

How often should I replace the filter?

Replace the charcoal filter about every 3-6 months, or sooner if odors escape. Keep food scraps from touching the filter to help preserve its performance.

Can I compost meat or dairy in this bin?

Yes. This countertop compost bin can collect meat, dairy, and other food scraps. Empty it regularly and follow local composting guidelines.

Is it for indoor or outdoor composting?

It is an indoor countertop compost bin for collecting kitchen scraps. Transfer the contents to an outdoor composter or an approved collection service.

Is the compost bin rust-resistant?

Yes. It's a 1.3-gallon, one-piece stainless steel body that resists rust and leaks. Remove the charcoal filter before cleaning and dry the bin thoroughly.
