Much more advanced claw system is still simple and solidly built, does an excellent job.
I have a small yard with two daschunds that use that yard 3 times a day. Other dogs use the yard now also. It adds up quickly. Not a problem with the Pik a Poo grabber/bagger. I like that you can use and replace bags when full without having to touch any of the surface which has been in contact with the poo, hygienically a better method, because of how they designed the quick release bag ring. The handle and response was very solid and strong, made a satisfying SNAP when you use it. The handy bag holder/spool is a nice bonus. Used a couple different scoopers over time and this one is my favorite so far, makes the chore of cleaning a lot less crappy.

Wheelchair-bound brother loves it!
We love the Pik-a-poo! My disabled brother is now free to take his service dog out for a walk without a staff member tagging along to help with picking up the poo! The one-handed design is perfect for him because he only has one functioning hand. He takes the Pik-a-poo with him, it stores the poo in a bag and his staff can replace the used bag with a clean one when he returns. There's absolutely no mess for my brother. This has given my brother a great sense of independence. Funny how a pooper scooper can make such a difference in the life of one person; something we all take for granted. I hope they never stop making these. I only wish that the joint where the two poles meet was made of metal instead of plastic. My brother drove over it with his wheelchair and the plastic snapped. We've got another one ordered, but I hope the design will be improved.

Pik a Poo7 28” is a well made tool for picking up your dogs poop
8-4-2019UpdateI had a screw fall out a few days ago. I emailed them the following day at ([email protected]) I had an answer the next morning.Within 2 days I had a first class mail packet in my mailbox with a complete set of replacement screws.I love this pooper scooper! I’ve had it for about 4 months. It works great. It has saved me a lot of anguish. Keep in mind that my review is for the 28” model. The longer? one is a completely different configuration and the bag doesn’t cover the scoops on that one. The 28” model is a cinch to remove the bag of poop, tie it up and toss it in the can. It’s for us apartment dwellers who can’t bring poopie mess into our homes.Original review:I’ve been using this for a week now. If you follow the enclosed directions it will work fine. The 4 clips hold the bag in position and you pick up the poop by pulling the handle then turn it to the side and shake it into the bottom of the bag. Incidentally, the enclosed roll of bags are very strong and I will be buying a box of them shortly. There is an included led flashlight which is not mentioned in the description. You will need 3 LR44 batteries if you choose to use it.The only con and the reason that I took off 1 star is that I found 3 screws laying in the box when I opened it. I had to figure out where they belonged and screw them in with a philips screwdriver. I would check all the screws to make sure they’re not loose. Make sure that you order the Pik a Poo7 28” on the first page you see. The 31” version is a completely different configuration and I cannot vouch for that one.If you have found this review helpful, please click on the tab below

Liked Previous Model Better
A bit disappointed...I tried to order the pictured model. It would still be in service if my Labrador had not decided that it would be great fun as a substitute for his stick. Apparently the pictured model is no longer available. I was sent the model that has clips to hold the bag in place. There was no assembly, you just have to unfold it and lock in place. Simple enough. Sturdiness is questionable as the metal is thin gauge and the rest is plastic. I will be sure that Kobe doesn't gain access to it. I guess eventually I will get the hang of scooping big piles into the bag. Right now, the process seems to be hit or miss. I definitely preferred the pictured model. I don't understand the focus on "Touch Free". When you clean up after two legged kids, you wash up. Why would it be any different from cleaning up after the four legged kids?

BEST QUALITY AND DESIGN POOP SCOOP TOOL!!!!
After trying so many other bad options, I finally found my dream doggy cleanup tool! I used it for years, looking forward to poop hunting in my yard so much that my yard was super clean, although the puppy poo required hose spraying after cleanup. But I made a mistake of squeezing too hard on the trigger using on grass compost, kind of abusing it and that broke the worn cable. So I wanted to buy a new one, and all the other designs I see now available are a joke compared to the "Pik-a-Poo", it's so sad to live in a post "pik-a-poo" world when I try to buy another one. : ( So now I will have to fix the bicycle cable that broke, and it looks so easy to fix with a standard bike shifter cable that I will soon be able to enjoy my "pik-a-poo" again! ; ) PS Please bring back the OG "pik-a-poo" for sale. The plastic on mine seems in good shape and solid still but I will have to keep it out of the sun in case they never sell it again.

Update! I would NOT buy this product again! Company never sent me replacement parts. Unresponsive
Update to the update! Sent two emails and phoned the company about two broken "Pick-a-Poo's, I was told they would send me replacement parts, They never did! My two pick-a-Poo's fell apart in ~ 2 weeks.Good idea but poorly made.UPDATED REVIEW Follows: I have only been using this for a few weeks, and the screws (2) have fallen out of the head of the product rendering it USELESS. This could have been prevented by 5 cents of lock Loctite being applied during assembly. Original review follows: I have been using this product for a few days (as I have had spine surgery and not allowed to bend). The "Pik-a-poo" works very well. One-handed use makes it easy to operate and still control your dog on the leash.Works very well when using on dirt and grass, works well on cement (the firmer the stool the better/cleaner the pick-up). I wish it was ~ 8" longer (and I am 5'5" tall" . My only concern is the quality of the plastic parts, they "appear" and feel very thin and are not substantial. I think by making the Pik-a-Poo longer and beefing up the plastic parts this product has the possibility of being GREAT. I have tried other poop picker-uppers, and Pic-a poo is the easiest and works the best for me. I hope that the mfg of Pik-a-Poo considers my recommendations.

This poop scooper works great , only complaint , comes with a little flash light with no battery and can not figure out what size it takes , no we’re on the box , or instructions ,short battery that’s needed !

Nice improvement over the past few years
Been using for six years now. Same company newer product. Have a minor complaint. Shaft though light and somewhat durable will not withold striking an object or a charging dog.

It picks up dog stuff !!
Works fine and is built well. The bag system is pretty good and after a few bag changes you get used to how to load the bags on.

Works really well but is much too flimsy
Holds most bags without tearing them, can gather multiple poos using larger bags. I used regular small kitchen garbage bags with them. Worked great for gathering up a day's worth of turds from 2 larger dogs at one time with one bag. However for some reason, the thing folds in the middle. That plastic hinge broke on me after getting caught on a bit of rope. A telescoping rod would be sturdier here, and more hygenic (folding it puts the poo claws up against the handle). It's also a bit short. I'm 5'10" and I had to stoop a bit to use it. If you're getting this because of a bad back, be aware.

Maybe
Super easy to use! Not sure how long it will last as it doesnt seem very strong. Bags are a bit awkward to put on and I wish the shaft was longer. I find I still have to bend over to pick the poo.
