I bought this to give my water garden a black mirror effect so my plants stand out and to help hide the its they are in. I use a 6 ft round stock tank for my water garden since the ground is too rocky to dig. This product provides a rich deep black and lasts a long time. It also cuts down on algae build up. Well worth the cost

I have a 1/3 of an acre pond and have used different products successfully, but thought I would try this one since it was cheaper. I dumped the entire container in and it did not darken the pond at all.

I really like the Black dye good mirror effect color, and it seems to block out some light to stop plant and algae growth effectively. My pond has a high inflow of water but the color seems to last a few months.

Not happy with this product. I bought the black and the dark navy blue. My pond is approximately 1/4 acre and still had some tint from the previous dye in it. Over a 2 day period, I have added about a half gallon of each color and it is still not tinted as it should be. I beg to differ on the “4x concentrated” claim.

This dye is very concentrated and probably settles out after a while, so shake the bottle well prior to use. Its dispersal depends upon the amount of water agitation while applying the dye, otherwise it will sink to the bottom because it's so concentrated. For small ponds, a little goes a long way.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great color and hope it does block some UV and subsequent algae growth

So I’ve used numerous brands and colors of pond dye over the years, all with great success. This dye for whatever reason just did not work. I poured the dye evenly around the pond and in the inlet to the pond and walked away like I always do and like I have done with this pond for the last five years. I went back the next day to check on it and it looked as though I had never even put the dye in; it literally did nothing. I have no idea why this happened because I dispensed it exactly as I have every dye product I’ve ever used in five years. It is the only dye product in five years that has not beautifully dyed the pond.

It is not collaring the water in pond as advertised We used 2 containers where one should be sufficient and after 2 months we had to repeat the process To expensive!!
