***2016 Update: It is still a broom, still sweeps, and still does a great job of it. It STILL hasn't lost any bristles, and even survives the imagination of a 6 year old playing Harry Potter with it. I wish everything I bought in 2013 was this sturdy and reliable. It's a broom. It sweeps. It does a good job of it. It's not too firm, not too flexible. It hasn't started loosing any of it's bristles yet (and doesn't show any signs of doing so in the near future. It's a real, full size broom, and I'm glad I was able to find one so nice for such a decent price! (I really don't like the all-plastic ones)

This broom is a heavy duty work horse that will stand up to serious use for many years. There's enough density in the straw to pick up even the finest dust and enough strength to collect any kind of particles and debris. One star off for weighing a ton! The handle is like wielding a telephone pole! But since I rarely sweep very long at a time that's okay. Nice product!

Great broom, I ordered a couple over the years. Get from Amazon direct though, I tried to order via another vendor (ORDER ME INC) and this isn't the broom they sent me.

When I swept the floor with this nice, natural corn-fiber broom, it picked up a lot of stuff the plastic broom had left behind. The broom is heavy and well-constructed. My only complaint is that the handle is so thick that I couldn't attach my clip-on dustpan (but not everybody has a clip-on dustpan, so it's a small matter). And, oh yes, it has no hanger hole in the end. But the price is great; I just drilled a hole in the end for hanging, and that fixed it just fine.

Gave this as a gift, and its worked better then the prior broom (Amish style) we had which cost $25 at the hardware store. So half the price, 10x the performance. So far its holding up well... and is both light but sturdy with solid hand weight. Only complaint is it started loosing its bristles out of the box, but then again... its a corn broom and they ALL do that.

I am beginning to see myself as a corn broom aficionado, having purchased a number of them for use around the house. Some might wonder exactly why I would want as many as I have, but I have found that not all corn brooms are created equally. I have a corn broom that I purchased, not sure where or when, but it was certainly within the past 2-3 years. It is amazing, as it has a nice heavy weight without being too heavy; a nice "heft", that renders it up to the usual indoor and outdoor patio sweeping tasks; fiber that is sewn in to not fall out frequently; and a rubber cushioned thicker handle that makes it actually a pleasure to have to sweep. This broom is not quite that broom. It is a good broom, but the straw is "splaying", meaning that the bristles are beginning, with extremely light use, to spread out. I like my brooms' bristles to remain tightly grouped. Hence, I am not as happy as I could be with this broom. It does have a thicker handle, and that is good. Corn brooms should, as I see it, have nice, thick handles. Skinny metal handles will never suit my needs. Neither will thin wooden handles. This broom's handle is, however, slightly shorter than the handle on my "super" broom. Not shorter by many inches, but shorter, nonetheless. My fear is that this broom may not last as long as I would want, given the usage requirements I have. I neither need, nor intend, to use this broom for heavy sweeping. And so, the performance so far for the meager, light tasks for which I have used it cause me mild concern regarding the expectation that I have that this broom will be with me in a couple of years. Or perhaps, it will still be in my collection in a few years after very light use, but will show signs of wear disproportionate to usage. I will have to wait and see, and may simply need to keep searching for the ultimate corn broom, one to match the one "super" broom I was simply lucky to have found and purchased another time, someplace else.

Heavy. Cleans well. made sweeping quick but it’s heavier than I expected and I’m fairly strong . It has a long handle.

This is an excellent broom! Big and beefy. Bristles are stiff enough to use outdoors (which is what I bought it for). Good for sweeping porches, sidewalks, etc. I expect this broom to last for a decade or so, judging by how robust it seems. I drilled a small hole through the handle and threaded in some wire to help me hang it up. No big deal. Pros: -Big -Sturdy -Well-built -Stiff bristles Cons: -May not be the best for sweeping hair and dust (get a broom with softer bristles for this).

Great product, stiff and sturdy. Bought this to brush snow off my back deck. Works perfect even for the heavy snowfalls.
