Great customer service, but I was not impressed with this product.
First of all I would like to preface this review stating that I have a pretty good palette. I can usually recreate a dish just by tasting it. With that being said, this was a total waste of money. 54$ per pound for peppercorns. I expected so much more and was delivered crap. Seriously, I compared regular fresh ground black pepper to this, ( with a spoon of vanilla ice cream in between) and I have to say that this crazy expensive pepper really lacks in flavor and zing. Below average in aroma and in taste. When I opened the nice foil bag, and took in a great sniff, I thought to myself..seriously? your joking? Right? I honestly expected to be blown away with a flavor explosion, the heavens to open and the angels to sing from all the hype reviews. And then my taste buds would be doing a happy dance, like when you taste Sichuan peppercorns for the first time. Totally not the case and I am completely disappointed. Save your money, go buy some McCormick. It sure as sheet does not live up to the hype of all the reviews. What a total waste of $$$$ Follow up. After my review, I was contacted by the seller, who refunded my money and sent a sample of White Peppercorns. As soon as I opened the bag, and took a deep sniff, I know it was a home run. So much more fragrant than the black, with a very nice bite, without overwhelming the flavor of the peppercorn itself. So I have changed my review from one star to three, not based on this particular product, but on their customer service
