Works Great. Quiet Comfort At Last
Review: So far, so good. 2 weeks in. Very quiet and efficient. This thing is a nice gentle hum when running cooling and the fan is very quiet as well. It slowly ramps up the compressor when needed then ramps down quickly and quietly while keeping the cool air flowing. Fan speed 1 is inaudible in a quiet room, fan speed 2 is audible but you only hear the air moving, not the fan motor operating, fan speed 3 is about low speed on most window air conditioners in terms of sound but much more air flow than any unit I've tried on their highest settings. This unit keeps my hobby room cool despite fighting the outside temperatures and inside heat production from my 2 computers and 3d printer. My hobby room is about 9'x13' not including the large closet. When the door is closed I can turn this room into a shivering cold cooler. Would say this is perfect size for what I have and the amount of heat produced in the room while I'm gaming, rendering, and 3d printing.Opinions: As an HVAC Tech I don't like inverter systems as they can be a pain and source of expensive repairs for homeowners later down the line of the life of the unit but for a window AC it is a brilliant idea to use inverter tech to provide a solution to high power usage with the efficiency of an inverter compressor and the solution of the obnoxious loudness of window AC with both the compressor and fan using an inverter turning this unit essentially into a small package minisplit without the extra costs and hassle of a full minisplit install. Hope to see more brands doing this and it becoming the norm for window ACs bringing down the cost as well. Although this unit might cost more than a cheap bargain window AC you got from some family secondhand that sounds like a lawnmower running in your window you have an abundance more of comfort and peace in your home to make up for it, which for me, means a lot. Will absolutely update this review if I have an issue with the unit so assume if the review is the same still it is still working for me.

Quiet, Cool, Efficient.
One of if not the best window AC Iโve ever owned.Extremely quiet, extremely power efficient and the app over WiFi (a little finicky to connect but not too bad) provides you crazy good scheduling and information to maintain it.Room stays perfect temp all day and you donโt have to drain it at all either.Worth noting though that it is also the heaviest AC Iโve ever tried to pick up!

Recommend - but fair warning: this unit weighs 62 pounds
I would have given this five stars, but for one thing - it's Heavy. It's an inverter air conditioner, thus the additional weight. Good news about that is that feature (inverter) makes the unit significantly more energy efficient. We bought support brackets because it weighs 62 pounds and we bought a house with cheap-*ss replacement windows - didn't want to rely on the window sill trim. We had it installed by handyman service. All that said, it's pretty cool (ugh, sorry for the pun). You can program it to start a before you go to bed. It's quiet. It does its job quickly. We have central air. Given the confiscatory charge of electricity, we decided to set the house temp at 78 and just cool the bedrooms at night with window units.

Life is GOOD!
Yes, it doesn't have the variable rotary compressor of the larger units. This thing is the quietest unit I have ever used. No compressor shock as it powers on. On low speed it is perfect for light sleepers such as myself. This unit is much longer than similarly sized units. I put a bottle jack and some microfiber cloth to level the unit onto the stucco shelf outside my window. I was able to carry the unit comfortably from out of the box and outdoor so I can install the unit into the window. The included seal kit is fine for horizontal windows but wholly inadequate for vertical windows. Two packs of 1 1/4" thick foam helped close the gaps with my MDF board I use to block the window opening.I chose LG as I have a favorable view of the brand and I have a mechanical control 6000 btu unit that has performed reliably for years. It is a fantastic looking unit and the app based control is high convenient. It also includes a remote and physical touch controls on the unit. Energy saver mode completely shuts off the unit once the temperature is reached. But honestly, with how efficient this is, I just leave it on low fan cool and let it automatically keep the temperature at a steady state. This is what is wonderful about this unit. No motor cycling with the inverter technology. For light sleepers such as myself this a godsend.Yes, this is much more expensive than most 6000 btu units. But for what you pay you get a superior quality of life.

Completely stopped working after 1.5 years
This product worked great while it lasted. Quiet and effective. However, after 1.5 years, we got the error code "CH - 38" and the ac stopped running. After researching, this means that the refrigerant level is low. We tried all the usual tricks, unplugging and plugging in again but it wouldn't run for more than hour before the code came back. Because it's been longer than a year, it's not under warrantee anymore and LG said they can't cover it. Getting it fixed by an LG repairman is a minimum of $330 and I called appliance and HVAC repairmen in the area but they all said they don't work on window AC units. The LG customer service rep said that this is a common problem with these units...won't get an LG unit next time....

So far I couldn't be happier
This is on the 6000 BTU model. So far it is wonderful. On low you can barely even hear it running. On medium the fan only uses 24 watts. When the compressor starts it slowly ramps up and I can barely hear it happening. This is the 6000 BTU model. It absolutely does adjust the amount of power it uses. Most to the time when the compressor is running is is only using around 150w. I have seen it go up to 400w for less than a minute and drop back down to 150w. Today It has used 0.4Kw in the last 13.1 hours set to 70 degrees. The app instigated easily with my Home Assistant using LG ThinQ. All adjustments are available over the app including scheduling. It has one time and daily. Can adjust temp, fan speed, mode, power. It also shows current power usare and past usage. All information is available on Home Assistant also. The remote also has all of the functions and causes the ac to make tones as you make changes. The tones are different for different functions which is nice. My only complaint so far is that the remote buttons and screen have no backlight and the buttons do not glow in the dark. The words on the buttons are also small and difficult to read. However I don't use the remote much anyway. My old window ac would sometimes wake me up when the compressor kicked on or off. This LG 6000 simply sounds like a very quiet fan whispering away. I have turned mine up to medium fan just so it would make a bit more soothing fan noise to help me sleep. It was not a problem to install by myself. It is a little heavier than the ac it replaced. It was the same height (12in) and was about 1 in wider th the old on. The LG 6000 is 19.5 in wide.It is still expensive but when there was a sale price on Amazon I got it. It arrived with no damage to the unit. Nothing was bent and all on the fins were in perfect condition. I also checked the serial number and mine was producen in May 2025. I have heard about quality issues in the 2023 models, but there seem to be no issues on mine yet. I did get the Asurion insurance just in case.So far it is wonderful. I will update if there are any changes 10/2025

Super quite, Connects to your phone, or smart home hub, Super cool even when it's 97ยบ outside.
I have been using the LG 6000 BTU Window Air Conditioner for about 14 months and it does an excelent job. The dule inverter makes this unbelivably quite unlike any other window or portable air conditioner that you have used.Plus you can connect it to your phone or smart hub and change the tempture from wherever you are. When I leave for a week or even a weekend I leave it set at 80ยบ then when I land or I'm an hour away from arriving home I can lower the tempture so that I arrive to the perfect tempture.Buy one you will not be sorry unless you want more nosie then purchase something else.

The best cheapskate ac unit.
Awesome amazon customer service rep replaced my lost in transit ac unit and recieved new unit shortly after the inital missed delivery window. This Air conditioner is a great LG unit, the inverter compressor cools fast, sips power and the fan is smooth at medium speed. Also runs amazingly well on solar generators and power inverters. The cons about this unit is that it is very large for a 6k btu unit, and its awkword to handle but not too heavy. Also requires additional mounting hardware because its length.Overall a great buy if your looking for a decent inverter ac unit.
