Q: What do caraway seeds taste like? can i top home-made bread with it? i've never tried it before. thanks!

Obviously, I can't describe what it tastes like because is tastes like, well... caraway seed :-). It's tangy and spicy and exhilarating. It is a must in many favorite Caucasian (Georgia, Armenia) meat dishes - lamb, poultry, and beans. It was used for centuries with bread baking (mostly rye - pumpernickel type) in Baltics - Estonia, Lithuania. I love it!

Q: What Are The Health Benefits?

I bought it for flavor in rye bread, so wasn't aware there were any particular benefits. However, it appears that the seeds may help lower LDL cholesterol and have a few other benefits to the heart. I can't swear to any of that.

Q: Why is there no expiration date on bottle?

There is a Best Buy date on the top of the lid. Mine shows that it's good for 4 years. They would appear to not loose their punch for a long time.
