Life Changing Book
I found “How to Open Your Heart” by googling this question. I’ve been getting feedback that ‘my heart is blocked’ from healers & intuitive friends for years. Working on myself, I had gotten to the point where I could feel the blockage (and notice less esoterically, the emotional shutdown I experienced in relationships). But I was never able to shift that until I read this book. The book is compelling as a narrative, ultra-relatable & a useful guide to healing (self healing & healing others). I’m a clinical psychologist who specializes in CPTSD. Have started integrating what Olsen teaches in this book into sessions with patients and my own self-healing. It got me excited about my work again! My new favorite book; I have been texting passages to friends and recommending to everyone (especially those engaged in self-work of any kind, i.e. shadow work, cultivating emotional maturity, or psychic development).

Stunningly Insightful
Another important and riveting read from this author. This is the second book I've read from Miles Olsen where I have picked up so much insight relevent to my own personal journey that I will keep to take forwards. I have learned so much about myself in these books, while reading about someone else, it's been enormously helpful and I'm very grateful for this shared wisdom.Very well written, relatable and honest, this has been a wonderful read that I would absolutely recommend.

A real and true story of a hero's sacred journey.
Miles tells the story of what can happen when we have the courage to see the truth and follow where it leads - - from the depths of the wilderness and solitude, to the frenetic city lights, and the darkest inner realms. Many wisdom teachers have noted: the wound is the key. Those tendered parts of us that look like our hardest plates of armour are also where our greatest gifts lie. Miles makes this wisdom real by taking us along his path of pulling back that armour and healing those wounds. For those readers who may have a spiritual yearning, but walls up from having been raised in a western scientific worldview, know that Miles comes from there too. He does not take anything for granted or from doctrine. The experience he relates in this story comes from genuine direct observation, precise tool making and use, trial and error and some controlling of variables - he is a pioneering heart scientist. The narrative is engaging and nicely paced. And not too long of a book, though I was a little sad to see it end.I'd love to hear an author-read audio book.I can't wait for the sequel - whatever Miles does with the rest of his life will be as beautiful as anything on this earth.

Hard to find the words
I read this book with very different expectations. I found the author via his website when I was searching for information on conscious monogamy (which in itself is a hard topic to find) and was so enthralled with his message that I decided to try out his book.I thought the book was going to be one of tactics, tips or examples of how I could open my heart and in turn be a better partner to my husband. I thought it would be another self help book. Dang. I did not know what I was getting into when I started reading this and I can honestly say it is one of the best pieces I have read in years. I flew through it within a day and have since told everyone I know that they need to read it.I struggle with wanting to call this as impactful as Hesse's Siddhartha to me (!), and wanting to say absolutely nothing about it but JUST READ IT! I will stick with the latter because my lack of expectations allowed this book to change the way I see life. Thank you Miles!

A riveting read
Helps articulate and understand what opening the heart actually means, where at first, Miles is in the same boat as the curious reader trying to understand what this means, and what one can do to achieve this. I can really relate to Mile’s upbringing and feel the knowledge gained from this book can help steer me on the right path whilst I focus on opening my heart to humanity during these closed-hearted times. This isn’t an exercise book but a very insightful, inspiring, and entertaining story that may answer some of our question in regards to love and authenticity. Thank you Miles, I look forward to reading your next book.
