Printed Music CELLO SOLO BEST SELLER! Review: Great edition - I use these for tuba rather than cello and would always opt for an Urtext edition for authenticity. This is a great edition and I would highly recommend! Review: Buena compra - Llego en muy buen estado, y me sorprendió que trajera dos versiones, excelente.

Your eyes will thank you! Henle allows you to be able to SEE and READ very challenging material.
I grew up playing violin and piano and my parents were both very accomplished violinists... but the only thing I ever laid eyes on for the first 20 years of my life were the obligatory Schirmer editions. They were everywhere... they were (relatively cheap) and very well known. In college, I discovered Henle and immediately bought my much used Beethoven Piano Sonatas using my own money in the Henle edition. I didn't really care about the editing (or lack thereof)... what won me over was just... how... clear print was! Larger format, space between the notes, thicker paper that didn't tear when trying to turn the page quickly... it was like night and day compared to Schirmer. Despite the price tag, I never regretted the purchase. And the thing is, my eyes were nearly perfect at the time -- it wasn't like I was having to wear glasses or contacts just to be able to see the page. So now that I'm old and I have started learning cello, the Henle edition was the obvious choice -- not because of some ideological purity but I'm old enough now that I need to use readers and the clarity of the print is even MORE important. So if you value your eyesight -- spend the extra money and get the Henle editions... Learning Bach or Beethoven or (fill in the blank) is hard enough on ANY instrument without having to struggle just to be able to read the notes! If you have perfect eyesight -- you'll still appreciate the clarity of the print... but if you are older and/or need glasses, the Henle editions become almost as important as the quality of your instrument or your prescription glasses!
