Meross MSP843 Smart Extension Lead, 65W GaN Charger, App & Voice Control

I've gradually built much of my smart home around Meross products because they offer excellent value for money, and these smart extension leads are probably some of the most useful devices in my entire setup. In fact, I now own ten of them, which says more than anything else I could write.I use them all over the house for different jobs. Some control lighting, one powers my home theatre so the TV, AV receiver and accessories all come on together, while another manages the equipment in my studio, allowing me to switch everything on or off with a single command instead of walking around multiple devices.The combination of individually controlled sockets and the built-in USB charging makes them incredibly versatile. They're much more than just an extension lead—they become part of your smart home and open up all sorts of automation possibilities. The 65W GaN USB-C charging is a really useful bonus too, reducing the number of chargers I need on my desk.Mine are integrated into my Home Assistant, Apple Home and Alexa setup, and they've been consistently reliable. They respond quickly whether I'm controlling them manually, with voice commands or through automations, and I've never had issues with them randomly dropping offline.What I like most is that they've simplified everyday tasks. With a single tap or voice command I can power up an entire area of equipment, and scheduled automations mean I rarely have to think about turning things on or off myself.After buying ten of these over time, I think that speaks for itself. If you're looking for a smart extension lead that's reliable, versatile and excellent value for money, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It's one of the standout products in the Meross ecosystem, and I'd happily buy another if I needed one.

I have three of these. They work very well with Apple HomeKit. The Meross App is a backup option too. Plugs and USB ports can be switched individually (all 3 USBs come on and off together, but separate to each plug socket). Reliable ... but sometimes loses connection when there is a power failure, and has to be repaired for the flashing green light to stop. However, this does not affect connectivity via WiFi using the Apple Home App. One of the three developed a failure in the USB ports - quick replacement provided by Meross via their customer support online.

The USB and USA ports have stopped working and I’m trying to get in touch with Meross as it’s been like this for about six months so it stopped working about a month after reported, which I’m hugely disappointed about. Otherwise overall it’s a good smart extension lead but it’s highlighted was how fast the outlets were, which of course are faulty. Anyway, I’ll try again and email them and hopefully have more joy.

Great extension lead, very easy to setup, but the wifi connection should be more reliable for the price; even being located in direct line of sight no more than 2m away from the access point it still manages to lose its connection from time to time, meaning you either have to re-add the device from scratch or leave it and hope it reconnects itself (even the Meross app won’t detect it) leaving you with a dumb rather than smart extension lead

I’ve found this really useful. So much I’ve brought a couple. For setting up, can be a little tricky, but once configured it works well. The USB ports work great, especially at charging larger devices. This is a well built device and not bad value for money. The scheduling of timing which sockets to come on and HomeKit integration has been really helpful.

I have a number of Meross devices and when they work, they're brilliant. I have issues with this device that if I have to reboot my wifi router, the power strip never reconnects afterwards. Yes it works as a powerstrip but I could have purchased a 'dumb' strip for a fifth of the price. I'm not ruling out that it's the fault of my TP-Link router, but all my other non-Meross devices work still........

I have a number of Meross products and can't fault them. They work and are not expensive. This power strip is excellent, particularly with the USB C charging ports. The one niggle is pairing the products in the app. Some I have found work first time, pairing immediately. Others several tries are needed.With this, the power strip, I had ensured only 2.4 GHz was running on my network. First attempt the app saw it as did HomeKit but then nothing else, it saw it and that was it. I tried several times, factory resets as well, before eventually getting it seen and in the app and functioning in HomeKit. I found that leaving mains power off for a time, ensuring the network was 2.4GHz only, switching on and holding the on button down for a reset, eventually got it to be seen by the app. You have to input the model number in the app for it to be found. It never found it of its own volition. Don't rush the pairing process, it takes some minutes, just let it happen and it will do its thing. Once installed it an excellent piece of kit to have.
