Car Window Shade Static Cling, Roll Windows Down for Driver, 2 Pack

This is a great product! Easy to setup and take down, and since it folds to the size of a small umbrella, it is convenient to store when not in use. It keeps the car noticibly cooler. The only "negative" is that it is a tad bit short for my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. About three inches of the windshield are left uncovered when the car shield is fully opened. If you center it, only an inch or so on each side is uncovered. It still keeps the car cool, though and I am pleased with it.

This set of “static cling” window shades is not what I expected at all. I have another set that I like, but they are wearing out from use (South Florida sun). My old ones are not only static cling, but they also have flexible wire frames that help them fit into just about any position. One might imagine my surprise upon opening this package to see what resembled a roll of X-ray film, 3 extra large wet wipes, a soft squeegee, and a set of instructions. Now why would I need instructions for static cling window shades??? Good question. When I arrived at work this morning, I attempted to set them up according to the (L) and (R) stickers. The only way they’d “cling” was if I’d wedge them into the door/window frame. I was not a satisfied customer at this point, but I was also in a rush. This afternoon, I came back to the car and started taking the shades down to head home, and figured I might as well write my review at this time (since I was stuck waiting for the school buses to leave, anyway). As I opened the box to snap a shot of the contents, I caught a quick glimpse of one of the photos on the instructions leaflet that shows peeling off backing. I am ever-so-grateful there was no one around to share this embarrassing senior moment with me, but I thought I might be able to spare someone else the anxiety and aggravation by sharing this information with others here. Yes. In order for these clings to work appropriately, you must peel off the backing, paying close attention to the labeling (right/left). It is also best to clean the window surface to make sure it is free of dust and debris, as these will show fairly clearly once the cling has clung. I do like the way they work so far, though I have not yet left the school parking lot. These are just like window clings you might use for holiday decorations, but you can see through these. I checked the listing before purchase, and this set was supposedly sized for my baby: a 2005 PT Cruiser (Plum Crazy purple :D); however, the clings are considerably smaller as shown in the photos. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Since I don’t need them for the rear windows, I may cut up the rear clings and add them to the front windows. We’ll see. I purchased these to cut down on the heat in my car as I’m parked in the brutal South Florida afternoons (pick a season; they’re almost ALL hot!), but now that I see they are window clings that have to stay clear of dust, etc. (as does the window), I imagine I’ll be less likely to take them down. I can see out through them perfectly—no problem at all. Here is the question: are they legal for travel? And the second question is in reference to UV. The listing indicates that these block UV rays, but how accurate is this? Will having one of these on my driver’s side window stop that side of my face from getting burned as I drive? All in all, these clings do precisely what they are meant to do, and they are easy to use. Some of us old folk gotta remember that 70’s commercial that said “Reading is fundamental!” and take it to heart. I would definitely recommend them, but for me, I’d like a larger set.

Perfect! Easy to stick on and take off. Covers enough of the window but not too much. Folds up for storage. Just what I wanted!

Overall the concept of this shade umbrella is great. It opens and closes really easy, nothing is catching in the mechanisms. The main reason I want to mark this down stars is because the Velcro strap is not sewn on strong, so it's about to come undone from the fabric soon. Some of the metal arms are already starting to poke out, come out from the fabric. I can push them back in, but I shouldn't have to push them in and mend it so close to buying it. Some of the metal arms also are bending backwards or won't straighten out any more. However overall the product is still working really well and doing it's job. I'm not sure that it takes the degrees down as far as it says, but I don't have thermometer to do before and after...and I live in Northern California and it's hot some sometimes you can't beat the really bad heat.

Seems like a wonderful idea but the designer or manufacturer failed to make the product easily opened or closed. It does open like a cheap umbrella and must then be positioned onto the windshield which is not a simple task. Closing and storing are cumbersome and inconvenient. The shade does not close like an umbrella in that, once closed, there are arms and vanes and spokes sticking out along with floppy pieces of material that must be tucked in and folded and secured. It is much more work than a simple spring loaded shade and this is NOT worth the effort and hassle. Returned after first trial. Definitely not recommended

This item is currently in my spousal unit's 2023 Ioniq 5 windshield. It fits quite well and the little velcro strap at the top - which is also the strap that wraps around it when folded, helps lock it in place. It's a little fiddly to set-up. I thought maybe I could hold it near the windshield and deploy it in place but that doesn't work as well as partially opening it and easing the bottome edge into place before full deployment. Then I fold the handle to the side where it anchors behind the center display screen which keeps it all in place! My wife seems to like it - she certainly took the time to figure out how to use it which is more than she did with the previous offerings!

Exactly what I need

This is a little too small for a Sonata. It still works but you have to fuss with it and it doesn't block out the whole window. There would be no downside to making it too large.
