I found this security bar to be of great quality for home use, and it's easy to install. However, I needed longer screws to install it correctly. Even though it is heavy-duty, the short screws did not fit properly. This bar isn’t just for the front door; it can also be used on a closet door or any other door you want. It fits door frames 32 to 40 inches wide. I highly recommend this barricade bar because, when installed correctly, it functions very well and is difficult for someone to kick in. It’s worth the investment!

I have installed door bars over all my exterior doors, but because of nearby cabinets and furniture, needed a lower profile one for one door. This bar fits well in that situation, and it is convenient to have the bar hang from one hinged side when open rather than being completely removable. The bar is made of aluminum, so even though it is thick it is lightweight. I have a serious problem with the advertising. It states that the 12 mounting screws supplied are 3" long to ensure that they sink through any trim to studs, or in my case the log walls of my house. In fact, these self tapping screws are only 1 1/4" long, less than half what is claimed, and will barely reach past my door trim. They are also silver in color and so do not blend into the black color of the bar's holders. I had to purchase separate 3" black wood screws to install this bar with, and this is the reason I rated this bar only three stars.

This Heavy Duty Door Security Bar is a solid and reliable option for boosting home security. It feels extremely sturdy and well-made of metal thick enough to work but not be too heavy to use, offering real peace of mind for securing inward opening doors. It has an adjustable width of 32" to 40" making it versatile and accommodating many size doorways. I did have one concern with the screws provided. They were too short to go through the bracket, door frame, sheetrock and then actual wood, which made me question how securely the barricade would hold in the event of an attempted break-in. I ended up purchasing MUCH longer 3" hardened screws separately, which made the installation far more secure and reinforced the overall strength. I recommend a metal door with door frame reinforcing metal as well, which would allow the door latch and bolt to provide better security when everyone is out, because this door bar can only be used from the inside and is not helpful when away. Despite this minor issue, the Heavy Duty Door Bar is an excellent addition to a layered security strategy. Just be prepared to upgrade the screws to reach wood and get good penetration for maximum strength!

The security bar came in quickly and with no issues. The Heavy-Duty Door Barricade Security Bar is a door barricade security bar that is adjustable from 32 - 40-inch wide. The bar is made for internal doors to help with theft protection. The door brace is actually really well made, the issue stems from the screws that the send with the package. Everyone that deals with security knows to put at least 3-inch screws in a security point such as door lock strike because the longer the screw the more wood that has to be gone thru to get into the house. This set includes 1 1/4-inch screws. Once you replace the screw with at least 3-inch screws, then this might help the way it is intended. The company really should take care of the screw issue, because otherwise they are selling false hope in my opinion.
