What will be the recommended solar panel for each model?

Depends on how strong and angle of the sun hitting on the panel. AEO-WP401209 minimum requirement is 12V 5W Panel, recommended 18V 10W AEO-WP501210 minimum requirement is 12V 8W Panel, recommended 18V 20W AEO-WP801220D minimum requirement is 12V 25W Panel, recommended 18V 50W *** Do not connect to 24V solar panel, the panel will deliver more than 24V, pump will stop for protection ***

I want to do a small waterfall in my pond. What size of pond tubing do I need to buy to fit this water pump? Thanks in advance.

Remember there can be a lot of loss of flow when pumping water and it adds up fast. For instance this pump is 1/2" output so you might think there is no reason to use a bigger pipe because the water flow is already choked down to 1/2" But if running more than a foot or so a 1/2" pipe will severely restrict the waterflow in either distance or height of pumping. It could be useful to run a 1" or even a 2" pipe if running over 5" or 2 or 3" up for maximum flow. Or stay with a smaller pipe if wanting to limit flow. I use a bigger pipe then add a restrictor at the end to give me the option. As an example: 5ft 1/2" gpm= 23 5ft at 3/4" pipe = 66 gpm. max. A low pressure pump could be significantly lower. The hose gets longer, the flow rate of the hose drops. A 25-foot, 1/2-inch diameter hose attached to a faucet that supplies water at 40 psi has a flow rate of 24 gallons per minute, while a 100-foot hose only has a flow rate of 6 gallons per minute. This pump is less that 40psi so these numbers will be much smaller.

I need enough power to help me push water in a black hose about 100’ up a small hill. Will this unit have enough power to do that?

Dear customer, the maximum pump head for this model - AEO-WP40SP10KIT is at about 6ft. You might need different type of water pump (perhaps commercial grade) Centrifugal High Head pump that can meet your need.

Upgraded old fountain with Solar!

My old fountain's pump stop working after 8 years, I decide to get a new pump and upgrade to solar power. I Tried different pumps that came with a solar panel, water flow was weak or stopped working after a few weeks. My friend recommended this pump kit to me and told me to connect a 10W 12V solar panel to it. It came with a fountain kit for those who are building a new fountain, it’s a nice touch since it has 4 nozzles which allows you to adjust the height and select the spray pattern. However, I have no use for it since I am upgrading my old fountain. Installation was pretty easy. The cable of the pump is very long, which allowed me to install the solar panel away from my little garden. At the end of the cable, there is a short extension cord that can be detached when you unscrew it, I connected the extension cord to the solar panel. (The connector is not designed for standard solar panel, but its clearly labeled with positive and negative tags.) After sunrise, the pump starts pumping the water to around 1-2 feet high and is around 3-4 feet high by noon time. The pump is very quiet, it's almost impossible to hear any sound from the pump when the fountain is running. My friend told me I can hook up a 12V car battery if I want it running at night time. In my case, when the sun goes down, I don't really need the fountain on. It works around 8 hrs during the day which is good enough for me. Now I don't have to worry about turning off my pump while I sleep or out of town. I can just leave it and forget about it since it runs off of free/green energy. It has been running for few days now and I don’t see any sign of failure. It should be a solid solution for those who wants to replace their old fountain or upgrade their old fountain to solar and save some electricity cost like me. Pros: Long power cable Quiet Come with fountain kit Detachable extension cable I’m giving this pump a 5 star because it's a perfect for me, although I have to mention the plastic cover on the pump is not that great.
