The tap is fine, its suppose to be near the bottom to get most of the liquid out! Unlike some reviews have said they wish the tap was higher! Well packaged, sturdy and for the money you could not buy better IMO.....

Tap too stiff to open

I purhased this for storage of liquor during wine making, in order to draw off perfectly clear wine through the tap after fining.. The tap leaks slightly, which is not really acceptable. Also, although the use for wine making is more specialised than normal use as a water container, the layout of the interior of the vessel is compromised by the indent which holds the detachable tap flush to the side of the vessel during transit. This means that there is a ledge about one third of the way up one side on which sediment is trapped, rather than falling to the bottom as it would in a smooth-sided vessel. Because of the configuration of the upper surface of the vessel, in order to decant the full 22 litres into it, it is necessary to pause filling and tilt to allow the liquid to fill the upper chambers in order to avoid overflowing. Finally, The label attached to the vessel states '22L' whereas there is stamped into the plastic side of the vessel '20L'. So the manufacturers appear not to be able to make up their mind on its capacity! For the record, it does just about hold 22 litres, subject to the caveat above.

Using this in my bedroom so that I don't have to refill my small water jug multiple times a day in our upstairs kitchen. The tap drips from the spout and the turn of the tap has become more difficult over time.

What I liked about this is that it's sent from Ireland, unlike a lot of cheap products coming from China. What I don't like is that the tap is too stiff to open/close. As a woman I always struggle to open it in the first place, and when the water is running, then I have to start closing it early so the glass doesn't overflow while I'm exerting to close!
