These shoes are comfortable. The sole is not overly think, but provides more cushioning than minimalist shoes. The zero drop feels natural. The toe box is wide, but the instep is a bit snug. Wish is were a bit more loose. The eyelets close to the toe are actually sown to the tongue, so that area cannot open up at all. Not a great design. The laces were short, so I replaced them with elastic speed laces. These provide more give and stretch. While these shoes are not perfect, they are the best I’ve found so far. Bought a second pair when the price was low.

I used to run a lot in minimalist shoes when I was younger. Zero drop, and with little to no protection from the ground. I loved running this way but now into my thirties and trying to get back into running I wanted something with a bit more support but less cushion than Hokas. These were the shoes. Super comfortable, wide toe box, zero drop and very responsive to the ground. I have been running now weekly for a few months on cement/gravel path/trail running and they hold up great on all three, with no foot pain. They got me back into running!

Best shoe for people that have back problems. I'm on my second pair which lasted a full year if not a more. I got a blue pair and black pair. My favorite was the blue. Very stylish and felt like clouds on my feet. They do run true to size. They gave me support where I needed it and less pain in the legs and back. I will most definitely buy more when it's time.

The media could not be loaded. Wanted some groundfeel in a shoe but its still comfortable to me. I dont like the puffy upper though. It makes lacing more difficult. Also I feel the laces are a little short. I like double knotting my laces for extra security but its a little too short to do this easily. I demonstrated lacing issues in the video. Other altra styles have more heel cupping and a thinner upper while this one i think is meant to be just comfy and squishy like a teddy bear but on your feet. It gives the sense that flannel sweatpants give, as if you are lounging in them. Im not crazy about this kind of style but I wear it for running not a fashion statement so its fine ig. Because of the low stack height the stability is good. It wouldnt be that easy to roll your ankle. Ive been wearing zerodrop for a while so had no issues running in this shoe.

These were very comfortable right out of the box. Plenty of toe room. I sized up 1/2 based on reviews and they fit well! Hope they last a good long while.

I have three 7.5 sized altra trail running shoes. I got an 8 in these and they are tighter than the 7.5s. Super comfy!

This is my third pair of Altras and I love them for the zero drop, wide toe box, and overall comfort. Unfortunately, two months after purchase and average or below average usage, the hard material under the fabric in the toe cap developed a crease. It looks odd, and more importantly rubs on my toe to a level of discomfort that I can no longer use them for running. Happened in both shoes. I reached out to Altra as it is past my return window and have not heard back.

Was hesitant to try these shoes as I thought they would look weird. They look just like normal shoes but the wider toe base feels amazing on my feet. I’m a nurse working long hours on my feet and I have no foot pain after purchasing these shoes. Would highly recommend others to try out these shoes. Light weight, durable, and a perk is they don’t look funny like some wide shoes can.

Love the look. Very comfy for long distance walking. I ordered my regular size based on measurements and other shoes. I will be sizing up for the next pair as I find they're a bit short and I like my shoes a bit looser. I also will be replacing the laces as they're quite short. Otherwise color is true to picture and quality is good.

Breite Zehenbox, null Sprengung, angenehme Dämpfung.Ich trage fast nur Barfußschuhe, brauchte aber für den Laufsport einen Schuh, der Dämpfung bietet, allerdings den Zehen den nötigen Platz bietet, damit der Fuß optimal "arbeiten" kann und keine Sprengung hat. In herkömmlichen Laufschuhen bekomme ich schnell Schmerzen sowohl an den Füssen als auch an den Knien und z.T. am Rücken. Zu eng für die Zehen, zuviel Sprengung.Komplett in Barfußschuhen zu laufen schränkt mich persönlich allerdings in der Länge der Läufe ein. Mit diesem Altra Escalante 3 läuft alles rund und es werden auf jeden Fall noch weitere Altra-Schuhe hier einziehen.
