Cuts edge banding very well
I'm very pleased with this trimmer. It cuts the edge banding overlap smoothly and quickly, without gouging the plywood, and I am able to see it all clearly in the process. As others have noted, the item may be throw-away once the blade has dulled at each of the four cutting grooves. I'm not sure how long that'll take though, and don't have a clear sense of it at this early stage. Otherwise, I'm pleased with it. UPDATE 1/2026: I’ve used this cutter for about a year and a half over a variety of projects. The blade is now starting to dull and will need replacement. I’ve found replacement blades for this tool here on Amazon. They are $9.99 for a pack of 4 and are sold by some seller called “NECAMOCU”. I haven’t ordered them yet, but it’s good to know that this trimmer doesn’t need to be thrown away simply because the blade is dull. I need to get some saw blades sharpened and may ask the sharpener to sharpen this blade as well.

works perfectly
1st time using melamine hot melt adhesive edge band. This thing worked perfectly!

Kinda useful as a pre-trimmer
As a pre-trimmer, it makes finishing with a sharp blade easier.

Great tool
I’m really liking using this simple tool. It works much better than trying to do this by hand with a utility knife. You still need to pay attention to the grain direction. You can get a hint if you’re going to have a problem if the cut starts to turn into a tear that wants to get ahead of the cutter. Best thing to do if that starts to happen is to stop and approach from the opposite direction. The cutters seem sharp and durable. And while I haven’t tried the plastic dual sided cutters, I think I’d prefer the control this tool provides.

Right price, gets the job done, but not perfect
I would give it 3.5 stars (but no option for half star). This edge banding knife is at the right price range for me to edge band only a few strips at the back of my cabinet. It is not perfect though, if I lay the knife flat and slide across the edge, it scraps the wood surface, see the red arrows. So I did it at a slight angle to prevent the knife from scratching the surface, but because it is at an angle, it is hard to be consistent with the angle and pressure ( maybe unless you are very skilled), so the cut is not even, see the second picture, part of the edge is cut away more than the rest. If you just need a quick job for an area that’s not super obvious, I think this gets the job done. The imperfection is not so obvious from far.

Low price for 4 razors is a good deal
This edge trimmer works well. I have used it to cut Birch and walnut edge banding with no issues. It's basically is a large razor screwed to a piece of delrin, the delrin hugs the edge and you drag it along to cut any extra banding higher then the edge you attach it to. This comes with two and they can be rotated around for another sharp blade. Considering the low price and it comes with 4 blades total, I think this is a good deal. Cuts smooth and seems pretty durable.

Did a good job
For a small project like I had this tool worked great. I can't say how long the blade will last because I didn't use it much, under 20' of banding. Do a test to get the feel of it and it is a good buy.

Not Good For Veneer Banding
I purchased this edge trimmer specifically for trimming veneer banding, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. When trying to trim off the edges, it often caused the banding to split, which ruined the entire side and forced me to start over. This was both frustrating and time-consuming. The trimmer seemed to struggle with clean, precise cuts, especially on thinner or more delicate banding. I had hoped for a smoother and more reliable experience, but this didn’t meet my expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking to use it for veneer banding projects.

Precise and smooth finish with very light sanding!
I purchased this single-sided edge banding cutter to reface my melamine cabinets and couldn’t be happier with the results. This tool offers far greater precision than double-sided cutters, allowing me to focus on one edge at a time without risking overcuts or uneven trims. It performed flawlessly, leaving a clean edge that required only a quick pass with a sanding pad for that professional finish. (Let’s be honest; you’d need to do that with any edge banding cutter.) Plus, it worked smoothly across different thicknesses of edge banding. This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a reliable tool for detailed work like cabinet refacing or board banding.

Worked well, even as a novice, and much cheaper than other options! No complaints.

Nice little tool 👍
It works well.. it’ll gouge the shelf surface if you apply your much downward pressure.. on the front moving end .. a bit of practice and you’ll get your groove on.. great price 👍

Beats the rest
I bought this and 2 other trimmers from Amazon to compare. This one was BY FAR the best. Gets right up to the interior edges and is sharp.

Did not work at all
Blade was dull? It just didn’t work at all, ripped at the Formica/melamine instead of cutting it. I don’t understand how this has such a good rating
