TX-RZ70 11.2-Channel AV Receiver - 140 Watts Per Channel, Dirac Live Out of Box, Works with Sonos Certified, THX Certified and More

I've been listening to CDs, streaming music, and watching movies for about a month now and have the unit figured out and dialed in. This is a very nice AVR because of its powerful amplifier, pre-outs and overall sound including two independent sub pre-outs. Has the typical features of all the other quality AVRs out there. Onkyo did a firmware update which made it possible to power off the unit's amp in 2 ch mode and then also all channels off. Powering off a unit's amp in pre-out mode and using strictly as a pre-pro prevents signal interference which translates into better/cleaner sound from the pre-outs. Plus, virtually no heat generated from the unit in pre-out mode.This unit runs barely warm with an inaudible fan--not sure if it has one or two. Navigating the on-screen menu is easy and straightforward. One can download the manual onto a PC or flash drive from Onkyo's website which then provides the option to have it printed into a hard copy--which ever pages you want. The manual doesn't explain certain things as well as it could so occasionally I had to google something for additional clarity. However it didn't take long to learn Onkyo's language for set-up and tweaking. Onkyo's customer service has been good for me the few times I called prior to purchasing. Haven't called since owning. This is my first Onkyo AVR.See Gene DellaSala's comprehensive review with all his measurements on Audioholics website to understand what a solid piece of equipment this is and what makes it a great value relative to the competition. Gene measured two channels driven at 170w/ch and was quite impressed with the measurements overall. He also said this unit is a good competent pre-pro.It's quite good for 2ch listening and powerful enough to adequately drive surround speakers during movies because of its great amplifier which is why the unit is nearly 50lbs. Both the RZ-50 and RZ-70 come with upgraded ESS Sabre DACs. The Sabre ESS ES9026PRO is the new DAC.For those who prefer not to go the route of separates; this is the AVR to have in the budget range of 2k. The biggest complaint with AVRs is having to make the trade-off between convenience/features but inadequate power. With the RZ-70, Onkyo created a feature rich and also powerful AVR for two grand. I've had two Denon AVRs and like them but have always been disappointed with their internal amps. Presently, the Denon X6800H is the exact equivalent to the RZ-70 and it retails for $3800. It weighs 34.4lbs while the Onkyo weighs 48.5lbs which has me thinking the Denon amp is inferior for considerably more money.I've run the RZ-70 strictly as a preamp processor in pre-out mode with an Outlaw 5000 power amp and everything works as it should and the sound is very good both ways. I'm driving a 5.1 array of old Polk 70 Series ll speakers which are 90dB sensitive but still require A LOT of power to drive them properly without distortion at medium high volume which is all I can tolerate. The Onkyo's beefy amp also provides for good articulate low volume listening which is important to me.The RZ-70 occasionally goes on sale for under 2k here on Amazon. Manufactured in 2023. Não poderia ter escolhido receiver melhor. Ele vale cada centavo do valor. Por 16 mil tenho o top das galáxias da Onkyo e que tem mais recursos e tecnologias de outras marcas (Yamaha RX-A8A) que custam mais de 25 mil reais. O Onkyo tem o Dirac que é um programa fantástico que ensina onde colocar as caixas acústicas e subwoofer além de equalizar o som como um todo para eliminar distorções, vazios (locais onde o subwoofer não é ouvido/sentido). Antes dele, tenho um receiver Yamaha que faz bem menos e custando bem mais. A Yamaha é uma marca de excelência mas cobra preços absurdos sem razão pois oferece menos tecnologia e recursos que o receiver tx-rz70 da Onkyo. Estou muito feliz com ele. Vale super a pena.

Onkyo txrz70, es el mejor receptor que he tenido, pase por technics, Yamaha, Pioneer y un primer onkyo en el 2010. Hoy puedo decir con absoluta cerveza que el txrz70, es un receptor hi end, el audio de las películas y la música es, asombrosamente espectacular, el receptor nunca se esfuerza para reproducir lo que le mandes, explosiones de las películas y las sutilezas de las mismas, en cuanto a la música, puede reproducir sonidos que antes en otros reproductores se escuchaban, ásperos y con cierta fatiga auditiva, mi set de altavoces es de gama media alta, en configuración 5.2.4 uso 2 subwoofers svs pb 2000, la calibración Dirac live es magnífica, les aconsejo que para la calibración usen una laptop y un micrófono mejor que el que trae el receptor, yo calibré con el micrófono eversolo EM O1, que es excelente y cuesta menos de la mitad que el UMIK mini dsp, al finalizar la calibración solo aumenté un poco los graves en la curva Dirac, y en el receptor ajusté hacia arriba algunos decibeles el subwofer, ahora todo suena espectacular, el sonido en general es potente y claro, el receptor onkyo txrz70 es un tope de gama que hace honor a su nombre

I honestly couldn't be happier with this thing. I bought the Onkyo RZ70 to be the main "processor" for my setup, and it’s been rock solid. If you’re debating between this and those super expensive separates/processors, just save the cash and grab this. Audioholics measured it recently and said it had the best test results they've ever seen in this price class, which makes me feel pretty good about the purchase.Zero HDMI Headaches (Finally): This is usually where receivers annoy me, but the RZ70 nails it. My previous Denon was a total nightmare with HDMI handshakes and black screens, but I haven't had a single issue with this Onkyo.I run my PC through it to the TV, and it passes 4K at 120Hz without any flickering or handshake issues. My PS5 VRR works instantly too. Zero problems with my Apple TV and with any Atmos content. It has Chromecast, Spotify, Sonos...literally anything you can throw at a receiver it will accept...and everything just feels buttery smooth.The Audio Setup (It’s a beast): I’m actually using the RCA pre-outs to feed a pair of Hypex Nilai monoblocks for my front Revel F36 towers, while the Onkyo handles the rest (KEF Q250c center, Q150 rears, and Pioneer Atmos modules). The integration is seamless. It has two independent 12V triggers, so my external amps wake up automatically when I turn the receiver on—no weird workarounds needed.
