I'm a newbie: Q: Where do I store the unused portion of the moss weed (assuming I am using the whole 16 ounces to make moss liquid over a period of time) - in the fridge or not in the fridge and how long will it last before I have to use the entire 16 ounces? A: The dried sea moss has a shelf life of 2 years if it is stored in a cool dry place like a pantry. The pack is resealable with a zip lock top. So just take out as and when you need. So the gel, if you use the boiling method and place the gel in a sterile container, the gel can last up to 5-6 weeks. Thanks for the question. The moss delivered was reasonably colored and not with the discoloration that some others noted. I'll know more when I prepare and taste it. I'll be making Irish moss drink.

I gave this product five stars for flavor, packaging and value. I've purchased another brand online a few times before, so I've been familiar with how to prepare and use it. This time I decided to do some price comparisons and found this brand through Amazon. Instead of boiling or soaking, I was looking for a quicker way to add a nutritious thickening agent to my homemade miso soup recipe. I store the package in the freezer. When I wanted to add it to my soup, I was able to easily grab a handful and rinse it thoroughly in tap water. I added it to my high speed blender, along with other raw veggies and boiling water. It made my soup creamy and thick. I love knowing I'm getting natural plant-based collagen into my diet this way...!

Despite some reviews I bought this after looking at many more reviews. The moss soaks well and isn’t too dirty or sandy. I made sea moss gel and so far have made 2 16 oz. Jars and also an 8 oz. Jar. I still have enough for about 4 more jars. My family uses Seamoss in our smoothies, on our faces and our hair. We personally can feel a difference in our appetite , sleep habits and more. Will be ordering again.

To be honest I was scared about this product from other people reviews but I bought any way. When I received it wasn't as DRY as others I have purchased in the past it was still a little moist. As I contacted the seller they gave me other methods on how to prepare. It wasn't to my liking so I went to using the original method of soaking for 24hrs in key limes. We needless to say it didn't SWELL as other raw sea moss. So, I continued to prepare as I have and the overall product came out great. So, I would recommend, you just have to know what u are doing.
