Reliable Rain Cover with Outstanding Customer Support
I recently started bringing my camera along on hikes more often, which unfortunately meant getting caught in the rain a few too many times. After reading the positive reviews for this backpack rain cover, I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. I initially ordered the small size because my camera backpack is rated at 25L. However, due to the extra padding and bulk of the bag, the cover ended up being just a little too small. I contacted the company, and their customer service was excellent. They sent me a medium sized replacement with no hassle and no questions asked, and it fits my backpack perfectly. I've since used it on several hikes in light rain, and it has kept my backpack completely dry. One concern I had before using it was whether rain would get through the gap between my back and the backpack, since I wear a rain jacket and don't hike with an umbrella. Fortunately, that hasn't been an issue at all. The material feels well made, the fit is secure, and it has performed exactly as I hoped. Combined with the exceptional customer service and reasonable price, this is an easy product to recommend for anyone looking to protect their backpack and gear from wet weather.

Incredible Waterproof Backpack Rain Cover by Joy Walker!
The backpack rain cover is of excellent material and design. The size fits snugly. It has excellent ease of use, lightweight material, travel friendly, traps are excellent, and water resistant. I ordered 2 small size backpack rain cover which were the incorrect size for our backpacks. Leo, the store owner, sent us 2 medium size back packs rain cover FREE of charge that arrived within 2 days. Leo is a responsive store owner who listens to his customers and acts expeditiously to solve the customers concerns and problems. I recommend Leo and his company Joy Walker Waterproof Backpack Rain Cover to everyone who are looking to buy waterproof backpack rain cover.

It is waterproof, just buy the correct size
Simple product. It goes over your pack. Water proof as tested by pouring a glass of water over it with sleeping bag below. No water penetrated. Would probably apply a water proof spray for good measure, but I can be overly cautious. The 70-90L size fits snugly over a 70L pack with compressed sleeping bag on top. Mine is attached to a Cabela's large external frame and can also cover the top but will not go far enough to cover the bottom of the frame. This is not a fault of the product just my use case and frankly only matters in heavy rain when you set down the pack so just put it in your tent or sit on a log not the ground. Material has the slightest bit of shininess to it, but not remotely a deal breaker. 4.5/5 Would buy again. Product is exactly as described. Cons/room for improvement: *The material is weak. You get wat you pay for. Cheap price= cheap material. It will get torn up by branches. *The cover is a bit to circular. I believe this is why it did not reach the bottom of the external frame. For any pack below 70L this will have zero relevancy. But for larger packs a more rectangular shape would be better to fit the taller standard pack shape. While most come with their own rain covers, as mine did, they tend to be on the bottom and are blocked by the external frame. It would also be good for the 70-90L covers to have a defined bottom side with a drain hole so that after fitting around the bottom of the frame so that you can sit with the pack on and moister that seeps in will go through a drain hole at the bottom. Just like how fabric military pouches have on them. *The cover is held by elastic and poly straps. The elastic is good. The straps however are only relevant for smaller back packs or soft shell back packs. On the largest packs the horizontal is used but if the cover was a bit bigger it would not be needed. if an external frame is used. A way to remove the straps would be good.(plastic tri-glide slide glider lock buckles would work) *I would like to see a way to affix the cover to the pack. I chose to modify the cover with snaps to attach to my frame so I did not use pack space. See image. I would recommend matte metal buttons. *I would like to see a way to roll up and tie/snap close the cover when not being used. I'm having to use the straps and it looks messy. * I would like more camo options. The classic woodland camo is always nice, but mil-spec multi-cam/OCP, OCP2, Ranger Green, or the True Timber Strata along with the other patterns they sell. I like my camo to match. Reducing the sheen if possible would be nice with the camo, but keeping the waterproof nature of the product is most important. A more expensive version of the product made from the actual uniform fabric with waterproof coating could be interesting. Still I am happy with my purchase.

Good Fitment for Osprey Packs
For those who own the Osprey Volt (60L) and Osprey Viva (50L) packs, I found that the XXL size is almost perfectly suited for the Volt pack, and marginally too large for the Osprey Viva but acceptable for use. The criteria I used for this is assuming that you are using a fully loaded pack WITH an item (tent, sleeping pad or sleeping bag) attached to the outside bottom of the backpack using the carrying straps specifically for that purpose. I would find that the XXL size would fit somewhat snug over a Volt bag combination with a foam sleeping pad attached to the pack; the Viva obviously fits but with a bit more slack. There's not much consequence to the additional slack with the Viva but it does mean that the rain cover flaps in the breeze pretty annoyingly unless you take the additional time to cinch it down with bungees or the like. As far as the raincover itself, there's really not a lot to screw up here. It's a large piece of fairly thick nylon with an elastic to fit around your backpack, plus two straps for either vertical or horizontal fitment around the backpack. I typically only use the horizontal straps for easier access to the top openings of my pack, but if it's windy out I also attach the vertical straps to my pack. It also comes in a stuff sack, but I usually ditch it and keep the raincover as a sort of liner for the inside of my pack- this saves just a tiny bit of weight, plus the stuff sack is made of some weird mousefur/low pile microfiber material that's at odds with the rain-resistant smooth nylon raincover it's supposed to carry. One thing I did wish it had was a way to guarantee the top is secured over the top of my bag. I typically use a small chip or binder clip for this purpose but it would be nice if it had an eyelet so I can attach a nite-ize twist tie or carabiner to the grab handle of my pack. As far as actual usage of the raincover: The elastic is actually pretty nice- it does a very good job of holding the raincover to the backpack and stretches wide enough to easily swallow my pack even with a protruding sleeping pad attached to the bottom of my pack. I used this during a trip to Yushan in Taiwan- I would not call conditions torrential per se, but I did have to hike 6 hours in steady rain that wet out the DWR layer of my rain jacket. While I did find that the nylon itself just about wet out on the raincover, my pack stayed dry. For the price, the raincover did its job. I have to assume that you can buy lighter weight raincovers that are slightly more water resistant and fit better to specific packs, but for the price this is a very good general option.

3 weeks in Scotland -- the Medium kept my wifes Osprey Skimmer 28L perfectly8 dry
We used the Medium rain covers in multiple days of rain while in Scotland, one of them on a hike in which the rain was hard-driven by tons of wind. Our backpacks always came out perfectly dry at the end of the day; and it is worth nothing that on the hard-driven rain day that even though my backpack stayed perfectly dry thanks to this excellent cover, my rain paints allowed moisture to seep through since the wind caused the rain to permeate my rain pants. One key part of keeping my pack dry IMHO is the clip and cinch straps that this rain cover uses. As opposed to a simply drawstring (that some competing packs offered and which I tried on at home in comparison), the clip cinch mechanism worked perfectly to keep a tight fit over the pack, offering more coverage over the portion of the pack that touches my back than did other covers which used drawstrings. Prior to using this pack I had incorrectly feared that the clip/straps on my back while hiking, but what I found was that as long as I oriented the rain cover such that one clip receptacle was at the top of the pack (as opposed to the bottom of the pack), that I happily never felt any of the clips or straps while hiking. Also, the rain cover was very easy to put on and to remove. I'd highly recommend this rain cover. ----TLDR--- A week prior to embarking on a 3+ week trip to Scotland&Ireland in October, I was told that I had better get a rain cover for my backpack/daypack because hiking there will involve frequent hard-driven rains. I bought three different rain covers and at home I did a fit-test over my fully loaded daypack (a 32 liter Osprey Skarab 32) and over my wife's somewhat loaded 28L Osprey Skimmer 28 as well (I say somewhat loaded because she never packs her pack as full as I pack mine, and her pack is also smaller, so we wanted to make sure that the medium wasn't too big for her pack....it wasn't; it fit both our packs perfectly). The Joy Walker MEDIUM offered the best fit and the best coverage due to it's dual click and cinch straps (as opposed to the drawstring method offered in some rain covers). FYI, the three covers that I purchased and tried on our packs at home were: REI Co-op Duck's Back Rain Cover XS (it fit the pack, but the drawstring cinching mechanism allowed more areas for wind-driven rain to get into the pack than did the Joy Walker's clip and cinch mechanism) Joy Walker small (too small for a fully loaded 32L pack) Joy Walker medium (perfect size for my 32L pack and for my wife's 28L Osprey Skimmer)

Keeps Bag Very Dry, Adjustable Straps are Great
I ordered two of these backpack covers for two bags, a Northface Surge (which is rated to be a 31L bag) and a Northface Jester (which is rated to be a 27L bag). I ordered a Medium for the Surge, and a Small for the Jester. According to the listed size chart, the small size is for 15-25L and the Medium size is for 30-40L. I was unsure if the Jester would have better fitment with a small or medium, given that it sits between the size ranges. The small, while it fit, it did not cover the top and bottom of the Jester quite as nicely as the medium that I ordered. Fortunately, the Joywalker customer support was absolutely phenomenal about having the size exchanged, and the replacement arrived within two days. Kudos to them for providing a great customer experience. As for as the actual cover goes, the perimeter is an elastic with adjustable straps going from top to bottom and left to right. My experience has been that this offers a really good amount of coverage, and the straps can be pulled pretty firm to make sure that the cover doesn't get pulled by the wind or let water in around the edges. The material is a nylon-feeling fabric, much like USGI military ponchos, and appears to do well at both, being water proof, and not getting snagged on branches while hiking. For the price these are EXCELLENT covers, though if your backpack runs between sizes on the size chart, I would encourage you to get the larger size, as you'll be able to tighten it down with the straps, and this will also give you a little more room if you've got large water bottles or other items in the side pockets of your backpack. In my images, the Surge is the gray backpack and the Jester is the pinkish white ***UPDATE 07/08/26*** I purchased another backpack cover for a 5.11 Rush 72, I have found that despite being a 55L pack, the XXL size fits the backpack best when fully packed. The XL size fits a 5.11 Rush 24 well. These new covers are just as well made as the previous ones (which are still going strong), and Joywalker customer support was fantastic about the size exchange. The XXL cover can be rolled up and squeezed in a double AR magazine pouch, which makes it convenient to access quicky on the outside of the bag. In my images, the 5.11 rush 72 paired with the XXL cover is the bag in Ranger green

Best customer care!
I purchased two rain covers from Joy Walker. The medium-sized cover fits my Osprey Skarab 30L backpack perfectly, while the small size was a bit snug on my Osprey Talon 22L. I reached out to the seller for an exchange, and the owner, Leo, responded promptly. Not only did he send the correct size right away, but he also upgraded me to the camo version — a more premium material. He even chose the fastest shipping option at his own expense, which truly reflects an outstanding level of customer care. I haven’t had a chance to test the covers in heavy rain yet, but the regular material already feels thick, well-made, and durable. I’m confident they’ll perform great when needed. Joy Walker is a fantastic small business, and I highly recommend them.

Great Pack Rain Cover, Super Service
Ordered the XL, It fits my fully packed Osprey Exos 48 perfectly, with room for a few attachments on the pack. Waterproof material feels durable enough to not get damaged from use yet lightweight and folds up well into the pouch that’s included. Best customer service ever, I accidentally ordered the wrong size at first (my fault), sent their support an email (email address easy to find on the card in the package) and they rushed out the new XL within like a day. Highly recommended!

For the Teton Sports Explorer 2000 (65L) backpack
I got the 90L cover to fit my 65L backpack with gear on the outside of the pack (3 person Teton tent, closed cell foam sleeping pad, R4 SELF INFLATING SLEEPING PAD and the Trekology camp chair). The cover the pack came with is very good and I had no issues with it but it would not cover more than the pack itself so I needed something bigger. Very happy with the fit and the straps just make it that much more secure on the pack. The little felt bag the cover came with went to the recycling bin (a small Ziplock bag works better) but I would definitely recommend this product.

Guter Regenschutz
Wasserdicht bis zu einem bestimmten Punkt. Also 5 Stunden starken Dauerregen. Da kommt dann schon etwas durch. Aber ansonsten sehr zu Frieden. Positiv+:" leicht, recht robust. Klasse Farbe. Kaum glänzend. Geringes rascheln.

100% Recomendada!

Good aftermarket backpack cover
This is a really good rain cover. Easy to adjust and take on and off. Elastic edge and straps hug the pack tightly. This does not make your pack waterproof but keeps the worst of bad weather off your pack. Spent 8 days in Tasmania wilderness in pretty bad conditions and it held up nicely.
