Light closes in on Mello
In this ninth volume of the excellent Death Note series, Light Yagami conceives a plan that could potentially halve his opposition at a stroke and bring his perfect world one step closer. He moves against Mello but not everything goes as planned and Light discovers that Near may be closer to the truth than is comfortable. Despite this Kira is making progress with the general public and this opens new possibilities for Light to manipulate. Death Note continues to weave plans within plans, with all three of the main characters trying to out do each other in cunning. This volume does see some good twists and some surprising losses that could shake things up slightly. Overall Death Note remains a very well written and carefully plotted series that is a cut above some others that I have read but this second half of the series does seem rather less than it could be.

Roller coaster ride
Like most Death Note books, this one had me on the edge of my seat while reading it. Near and Mello are getting closer to discovering L's true identity, and you're there reading the book either worrying for Light, or cheering Near and Mello on, begging them to solve it without getting killed. The art is amazing as always, the story line is clearly there, and the humour of Matsuda remains strong. I cannot wait to finish the series!

It may slow down but its as fantastic as ever!
In volume 9 of Death Note the battle shifts with a real mind games going on. It also helps that you have a storywhich I admit aint like it used to be at the start. But its great and never really gives in and the deep story keeps getting more complex. The fight with Kira and M and N (Near and Mello) is getting heated and I still love this series. My only problems are that I like L much more than these two (M and N) but thats just my view. Just read this series and keep at it. ----Alexander Gradwell/Venomtheevil----

A great continuation of the series
If you're already a Death Note fan then you won't need any convincing to buy this - it's just as good as the previous books! If you're not a Death Note fan then read the first book and I'm sure you'll become hooked!

Bad quality
Mine came from a library and had a plastic cover on, a piece of paper that had who had used the book before and loads of stickers on that i had to rip off and it tore the book. This was meant to be for my friend for her birthday but i can’t give it to her because the quality of the book is very bad. The only good thing is it was £4.
