Is what it says, works like it should.
Great product, especially if you don't have time to go through the process of mixing/sterilizing your own nutrient agar. Cause otherwise it is much cheaper to make your own. Product was contam free on arrival. Poured my plates in SAB and inoculated within 3 days. Visible growth in about 4-5 days. Fully colonized around 2 weeks. For the home-scientist, If you have an Insta-Pot, or another way to cook Sue-Vide, this is the best way to liquify this Nutrient Agar Product. Because you can set the exact temp of the water bath, you can set it and forget it, not having to watch a boiling pot. I set it to around 185°F. Plus, once the Agar has re-liquified, you can lower the temp to exactly 130°F so you don't get any condensation in your plates after you poor.

Science experiment
My daughter asked it for her science experiment. It seems that it worked as expected.

So easy and efficient!!
This was PERFECT for my son’s bacteria science fair project. 1 bottle made a little more than 20 petri dishes, depending on the pour. Advice: heat it up in 30 sec increments and swish it around! Do not try and do 1 minute, it will overflow! Use an oven mitt or something heat resistant to grab with and pour. If it solidifies again, you can reheat it. But again! If we do another bacteria project, we’ll be using this agar!!

Microwave in 30 sec intervals!
So far the Agar seems very good, only problem was directions! Says heat up in microwave on high at 1 minute intervals, after 1 minute I stored just like it said and placed it back in microwave put on another minute and within 20 seconds it was boiling out the top! Wasting quite a bit of Agar it was only in the microwave total of 80 seconds! IN THE MICROWAVE DO 30 SECONDS INTERVALS! and you should be ok and won't waste it.

Worked for Homeschool Science
It's to use and did the job. I'm glad I bought this and 20 petri dishes. We used 8 dishes so far for experiments and I have less than 1/2 a container of agar left. Glad I bought this size and am glad I made the effort to do experiment. Note: It can take days for bacteria to grow. Be patient. We did our experiment 15 days.

Science project
Worked great for a science fair project testing bacteria. It wasn’t as easy as buying the Petri dishes already made with agar but still worked.

Worked as expected.
Will not be doing anymore home culturing for the time being do to safety concerns. Can be done safely but it's complicated. Got the results I expected from this agar. Do recommend, if proper safety precautions are taken. Just working with cells now. Good product just moving in a different direction of study.
