XMONDO Color Purple + Pink Shade Shift Depositing Mask, Hair Dye, 8 Fl Oz

Love the color and smells amazing!

This product has promise, but after 2 applications, its barely visible. I tried it on my hair which is already bleached blonde and the color rinsed out after 2 washes. I tried it on my daughter's natural virgin blonde hair and it also washed out after 2 washes. We evenly saturated the hair, left it on for 30 minutes instead of the 20 minutes in the directions and its subtle color. Not a vibrant or rich color. I would describe the outcome as a rose gold.

I’m someone who has been using semi-permanent dyes (mostly pink, but also orange, purple, and red on occasion) for decades now. So I know they work best on a light blonde starting base, cold water, etc etc. Recently I tried to use another brand’s periwinkle because I wanted to still have a not so natural color, but I wanted to go to something lighter that would blend in better as I get more grays. The pink I had been using (IroIro Neon Pink) would not come all of the way out and the periwinkle wouldn’t take. So I decided to move onto a different pink that might fade better. My 6 year old picked this Purple + Pink Shift for me. I watch Brad’s videos, I why not? Attached is my starting color, day one, and after 3 shampoos. The pros: - It left my hair feeling nice (though to be fair most semi-permanent dyes do that) - The color was so pretty. My hubby walked in while I was dying it and because some of my head was in a natural light and some not, he asked me if it was purple or pink — so yeah it does look different in different lights. - Big container that is full to the brim and easy to get out. So many other colors are much smaller AND in containers where you will never get all of the dye out. Cons: - The price - it is much spendier than any dye I have used before. That said you do get more than any other one I’ve bought and I used much less to coat my hair well. - The biggest con is longevity, which is to say it doesn’t last nearly as long as any other semi-permanent brand I’ve tried and I’ve tried a LOT of them. If you’re someone who changes your hair color a lot, this could be a pro. For me, I am lazy and want it to last, my faded picture was after 3 shampoos. No other semi-permanent pink (or purple) has ever faded that quickly and almost completely that fast. Overall? Great color. I was worried about fragrance as someone with eczema and migraines that can be trigged by fragrances, but this one triggered neither. A little goes a long way so if, like me you have shorter hair, this could last a while even if you have to redo it every few weeks — of if you have longer hair, this tub will probably be enough. If you want to change your color often, it’s worth it. If you want longevity? Look elsewhere.

I ordered the purple pink shift but ended up receiving the garnet shade. I ended up keeping it. Didn't want to go through the hassle of waiting for it get back in stock. But the Garnet is nice shade its what I typically would have picked. It was really a nice and smooth application. Smelled really good too.

I really wanted to love this color. Not needing to mix it with developer was nice, but I wish I’d gone with a Demi-permanent instead of a semi-permanent mask. It also did not shift pink to purple for me. I bleached my hair so that it would be more vibrant, but it just looks bright red and that is not what me and my mid-life crisis wanted. First pic is the first day out in the sun, definitely pink. Second pic is about a week and a half later, just looks red indoors, but even when I’m in the sun (see 3rd pic) it’s still more red to me. Maybe I’m over judging but it didn’t give me what I was looking for.

Love! This is a great product to help a red / berry color last a little longer between salon visits. Smells beautiful, and leaves hair soft. You can use it on dry hair to deposit intense color, or instead of conditioner. Honestly its super versatile.

My son bought this and I had it applied to his hair by a professional stylist. The color rinsed, not washed, right out leaving no color in his hair. Seriously disappointed.

My first shipment was the wrong color, they sent me blue/purple transition.. I kept it and just ordered the correct one again. My son has naturally dirty blonde hair and wanted a pink peekaboo in his long bangs. We bleached first then used the Pink/Purple transition color, his is vibrant and looks great after two weeks still. I have natural bright orange ginger hair, I had some bleached front pieces I tried applying this to. It faded immediately to a grey Purple. I reapplied before my next needed shower, let it sit for nearly an hour. It came out a very dull pink and again faded right away to look like an overtoned bleached Purple color. For the price it was really dissapointing.
