I am very happy with this enclosure. I used it for a while on a server as an external backup drive. The fan comes on in rather short bursts and keeps the temperature of of the drive at 49C. I can definitely recommend this enclosure.

It works and fit the nvme card. It gets close to the rated speed. It gets hot to the touch when transferring large amounts of file or large files.

Call me old fashioned but I still find comfort in knowing that a fan is assisting in cooling, especially since the intent is to use this drive very often. It was pretty easy to install my ssd, it feels durable and works as should. As far as external storages go, this setup is the fastest I've used so I'm quite pleased. The cables look good, I've been using the c-type to c-type without issues. They also threw in a mobile phone stand as a gift which functions well. Overall a great product that I'd probably buy more of if needed.

This enclosure is very small and lightweight, making it very easy to carry around. The designers expected as much and hence included a nice secure carrying case. This enclosure features a tool free design making it very simple to use. It took me less than 20 seconds to install the NVME SSD in the chassis and connect it to my laptop. The included cable, however, is very small. If you choose this enclosure, you may want to invest in a quality cable of desired length. Additionally, enclosure feels very flimsy. The chassis is made of thin plastic while the outer cover is maybe thin metal or a thin plastic painted like metal. The quality issues, however, do not end there. The included fan was not properly secured to the chassis and fell off as soon as I took the chassis out of the cover. I was able to place the fan back where it belonged, but without a way to properly secure it, it fell out again. A tool free design, does not have to mean that fan can't be secured to the chassis. That's just a design failure. Additionally, the fan makes a high pitched noise while running. It's piercing to my ears. Additionally, the fan kept revving up and stopping again and again continuously as long as the drive was in use. It felt like there was a major design flaw on thermal management. Given these issues, the enclosure is veing returned and I do not recommend this to others until the manufacturer improves the design.

Works as it should, but if you use a 2230 drive it does not have a hold down pin. The larger drives have a hold down pins and hole. The 2230 just fits in by the friction of the data slot. We will see if it the drive comes loose with use. I will be totally bummed if the drive comes loose during use.

I love the ideal that built in fan to keep the device cool but the fan barely run, just little spin up here and there for 1 second then stop which i'm really worry about my NVME card because the case is just aluminum without the heatsink. if the fan won't spin, it will be too hot for NVME. when i hold the enclosure, it is very warm hot compare to my previous NVME enclosure. it could be the fan is defect. The NVME enclosure use RTL9210 chipset as the seller stated if anyone curious about the chipset. Even the enclosure is little too warm but it function very well. fit well with my 2280 card. No complain with usage, work just like other enclosure beside fan issue.

Fan not working from day 1. Not sure if it's thr nvme module or just as had fan.. going to check now and will update.

I just received the PiBOX India NVME M2 Enclosure Fan, SSD Enclosure - USB 3.2 10Gbps, Tool-Free M.2 NVMe Casse, installed the drive, let it run and started transferring files. I noticed how hot the case was getting. The fan doesnt work!!!! Thanks PIBOX Ill take my refund now!

Does what it says, and at such a reasonable price! Please watch the attached video for a detailed review. I've been using an Orico enclosure since 2 years but my SSD used to over heat so much that it would get ejected automatically. Pi Box has been great so far. The fan is totally silent. Transfer speeds are good too. I transferred nearly a terabyte of data within 37 mins. About 120GB took hardly 3 minutes. It didn't overheat. The supplied thermal pad is effective, and so is the overall heat dissipation. The company generously throws in a proper case, USB C-to-C and A-to-C cables and a few phone stand which is actually usable. What more can someone ask for, at INR 999? Installation was very easy and completely tool-less. The drive got detected on my MacBook M1 Max instantly, since it was already formatted. Size is convenient. It's well built too. But I'd wish they improve the plastic quality inside too - although it doesn't matter much because you are not going to be opening it frequently and the metal casing outside is quite sturdy.

Easy to use. Installing the drive is straight forward. Quite durable but heat dissipation is not bad but also not good. Thermal pads included work fine with the fans but still drive gets quite hot during heavy read/write process. Good value at this price. Includes both USB C to C cable and USB C to A cable with a protective case.

Short Review: Speeds shows in pics are using the old USB 3.0 port. Also Excellent caring tech support. Long Review: 12 years old I had bought a 2.5 inch SATA enclosure and it was one of the best decisions ever from many points of view. Endurance and reliability are paramount to me and my SATA drive in USB 3.0 enclosure still both work but running out of space. So fast forward to now, I bought a gen 4, 2TB NVMe SSD, with high TBW and eventually plan to put SSD in a newer laptop down the line, but in the meantime wanted to use this drive as a backup drive so I needed enclosure for it and I came across this one and the specifications and feature just made the most sense. I am using a 11+ year old laptop with USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports ONLY. No USB 3.1 or 3.2 or 4 (which generally use a form factor USB-C type BUT / SO remember not all USB-C are USB 3.1 and above hence then you WILL get slower speeds if/because your computer/device has the older ports) After I got the drive and setup everything, I ran multiple speed test and have posted the results with this review. Now the best part of this enclosure is the after sales support. Here is the background, I contacted the support because during my testing of several GB of data over many hours, I noticed that the fan never came on. So I contacted them and let me tell you, the after sales just impressed me. I don’t know if it was 1 person or several individuals but I messaged with them several times over WhatsApp and each time this person(s) always had a thorough knowledge, understanding, and comprehension of their product … and SINCERE WILLINGNESS to help out their customer and put their customer FIRST. Even on weekends and around midnight hours, they would THOROUGHLY help you out... these are real geeks / nerds who know their stuff but with humility and professionalism help you understand what’s happening. They explained that 1) This is a smart fan (which I knew) but the fan kicks in if temperature crosses 63 degree for 30 seconds (Which I did NOT know). You open Crystaldiskinfo and check the temp. I checked on diskinfo my temp and it NEVER crossed 42 degrees Celsius… and probably never will if connected to USB 3.0. Likely only if connected to USB 3.2 will enough heat be generated, 2) Small fans have a limited life span hence even in laptops they are not always running but come on only when needed. 3) As seen by the temp monitor, the aluminum shell wicks away the heat efficiently passively without the fan, which probably will be scenario for most of us in most circumstances 4) They could have made this a cheaper product by keeping the fan always on but decided to include the extra circuit at extra cost to make it ‘smart’ so that in case you do end up generating heat beyond 63 degrees e.g. if connected to USB 3.2, then the product will not 'just' passively cool it but ALSO actively cool it with the fan. Just the right balance / optimization !! It gives me assurance that they have done everything that can be done to give my drive and enclosure the maximum endurance and reliability. Everything has been though of. Both types of cables are included ... USB A to C … and USB C to C… both cables have management Velcro straps … great enclosure case …. And tools free installation of drive in the enclosure … And the packaging was excellent. I’m more than satisfied with this product and want to say thank you to their excellent support, which I did not expect by a company unknown to me.

Excellent build quality overall, feels premium to hold and made of aluminum. Installation of the SSD was a breeze. The box comes with a thermal pad, high quality USB-C to C and USB-A to C cables, and even a good quality case to keep everything together. Also has a built in cooling fan, which is rare at this price range. Great transfer speeds as well. All this for just ₹999 - great value! “Very good.
