Rinse-able clay! Worked great for me.
I've used a handful of clay bars before---and each time I am amazed by how such a simple procedure improves a wax job. Something about the clay shaves off dirt, imperfections and film so nicely, leaving a vastly smoothed and prepared surface for a finish. If you've ever been disappointed that a freshly waxed car feels a little...gritty?...this is the answer right here. Clay bars are great, but also are a little bit of a hassle...kneading it, keeping from dropping it, monitoring the level of dirt & grit in the clay. Sometimes they get sticky, and I've had one kind of dissolve mid-job. I thought I'd try this because the surface is so nice and flat and it would be easy to handle. The BEST thing about it is that it can be rinsed and wiped clean as often as you'd like, giving you a fresh surface. Aficionados debate whether these devices are as good as real clay. Having used both, I'd say that the Clay Block is easily good enough for the regular Joe trying to get a smooth, glossy finish on the daily driver. I thought it was very easy to use, rinse-able, and it allowed me to get a fantastic finish on a white 2012 Rogue (which was a filthy mess). Two coats of Duragloss and the car looks like new---really. Glassy smooth. I don't think I could have done any better with a regular clay bar. I got a great tip from watching a youtube review on this thing---the guy used a very light touch---didn't bear down at all. Like---three fingers pressure. If you press too hard, the edges will catch the finish and the block will try to pull itself out of your hands. That's the clue that you're pressing too hard. Use lots of lube (quick detailer spray---I used Griots and it was great), use a light touch letting the bar do the work, rinse and wipe it clean with a microfiber towel, and enjoy the magic.

Replace your clay bars with this guy
Coming from traditional clay bars, I have to say: I love this thing. It makes claying a vehicle so much easier and faster. It works quite well (though I think a "heavy duty" clay bar will remove a tad bit more than this guy). And I love that if I drop it, I just need to spray it off and keep using it - I don't have to throw it away as I would with clay. I have found that it is sometimes hard to hold on to, especially as it starts getting wet from the clay lubricant. I did end up dropping this a number of times more than I ever would actual clay - but since it's so easy to clean off I'm not really worried about it. With proper storage (keep the little wax sheet thing that comes with it in the bag to keep the "clay surface" from sticking to the bag) it should last quite some time. Very happy I decided to try this out!

Better than traditional clay
Way better than traditional clay bars for 90% of decontaminating the surface. I used a mixture of meguiars auto soap and water in a spray bottle as a lubricant which worked very well. My white Honda had rail dust and brake contaminants deeply embedded in the clear coat and this pulled them right out after a thorough washing. I dropped the bar several times and it was awesome to just wash it off and use again. Still need clay on the really tough spots though.

works good for your avg paint detailing
works good for your avg paint detailing, it is a fine grit, for heavy iron spots or break dust rust use a clay bar or get this if its made in a med grit. does squirt out of your hand if you get aggressive with in, i curled it in my hand that helps, i dropped it on a garage floor, it cleaned right up, cant do that with a clay bar.

so much quicker to use
allows you to clay a larger area faster. Just watch it, this pushes out the lube faster so you need to spray more. other than that its great. can clay a car faster.

This is a great product, my Ford 150 truck and wife's Honda ...
Wow! I used to use actual clay bars, which cost a lot and go thru several for one vehicle. This is a great product, my Ford 150 truck and wife's Honda Odyssey. and still looks good and ready for another round. easy to clean especially when it falls to the ground. with Clay, you basically have to throw it away once it hits the ground.

Super Disappointing
Was really excited to use this clay block. It's easier to hold, and it washes off. Problem is, it doesn't do much of anything. Went over the same spot over and over, ran my finger over the spot and still felt like the spot had gunk. Grabbed my og light/medium clay bar, went over the spot less times than I did with this block, ran my finger over, perfectly smooth.

Not as good as clay
Not sure it is as good as clay. I have tried other brands and they are all less effective in my opinion

Clay bar
First time ever using a clay. Wow what a difference. Before using the clay bar running your hand on paint you feel all the imperfections. After clay bar smooth as can be. Highly recommend.

Great Alternative to a Clay Bar
The clayblock produces great results on surfaces with light to medium contamination and is much simpler to use than a standard clay bar. Also, if you drop it (which is hard to do given how easy it is to hold), a quick rinse is all that’s needed. No waste. The person who gave this a 1-star rating because it needs to be used with a lubricant probably shouldn’t be taken seriously.
