An expensive but convenient way to buy soil for for one small plant
This is only a litre of compost which is very little indeed. For a sense of scale, you can buy the normal sized bags that you’d get at a garden centre for the same sort of price and those are 50 litres.Which begs the question - why would you buy this product? Well, if you live in a flat, don’t drive, or only have a small number of houseplants, or even, just have one, why would you want to store 49 litres more than you needed? That’s really the only reason I can think to pay this price. We’ve used this to test it, and found it crumbles properly and isn’t clumpy and haven’t found any issues with it. There’s nothing wrong with it as far as we can tell. As long as this is enough compost for your needs, you’ll be fine with this. Check their other products if you need more.

soil
Firstly, the soil is very soft and breathable, which helps the healthy growth of plant roots. When mixing the soil, it is soft and delicate to the touch and has no odour, making the overall experience very pleasant. The soil is formulated to be nutrient dense and rich in organic matter and essential minerals to provide a constant supply of nutrients to the plants. I have planted several houseplants using this potting soil and their growth has improved significantly with greener leaves and a significant increase in growth rate.Another advantage is that the soil has a good balance of water retention and drainage, it doesn't pool water easily or become too dry, reducing plant problems caused by improper watering. The packaging is also conveniently designed with an airtight seal, so leftover soil can be easily stored without getting damp or spoilt. The only minor drawback is that more soil may be needed if used for larger potted plants, and it is advisable to consider the size of the plant when purchasing.

Quality eco-friendly soil
PACKAGING: Re-sealable press seal bagPRODUCT: Houseplant soilFUNCTION: The soil came in a pouch with a re-sealable press seal top. The plastic pouch has a clear transparent front, so the contents can be seen, with a plain white back where the bar code label was adhered. This is not the marketing pouch you see in the online advert. This is a small quantity of soil. Enough to re-pot one small plant or for a tray of seedlings. Great size if you just want to sample the soil, or if you actually only need a small amount. But what gardener only needs a small amount? The soil is very tactile. It is super soft in the hand, which is probably down to the coconut coir/fiber. You can also see the white specs of perlite running through it. I can't see the vermiculite but that is to be expected.I am using the soil for seeds. It acts a bit like a sponge for retaining water (that's the coco coir I suspect) but I have a moisture meter to keep on top of things. It is early days yet but I am pleased with this soil, it looks and feels like quality. If it yields good results, I would definitely order more. At the time of this review the small bag of soil cost £7.99. This will work out expensive if you require larger quantities.

houseplants
Arrived well packaged, the soil has a nice feel to it, looks healthy with great texture. Only had the one plant to repot and it's taken to the new soil very well, it's thriving! Completely free of pests, good quality potting mix.

Will be months before we know if plant likes & benefits from it. Grandna almost choked when told £7L
UKGROW Hand-Mixed Houseplant Soil | 1L Resealable Bag | Peat-Free with Coco Coir, Perlite & More | Pest-Free for Perfect Repotting++* SOUNDS AS THOUGH IT HAS ALL THE RIGHT THINGS IN.EVERYTHING YOU USUALLY SEE LISTED OR RECOMMENDED ONLINE.—* PACKAGING VERY DISAPPOINTING. JUST A POUCH WITH A STICKER WITH JUST TEXT ON IT….NOTHING LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL BRANDED POUCH SHOWN IN THE PHOTO WITH TEXT, PICTURES & DESIGN ON IT.—* If you were going to buy this as part of a gift for a house-plant lover, , to add to a basket full of of products to care for houseplants etc… it WOULD look very disappointing.)++* SOIL FEELS FINE, VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT GRANDMA, MUM & I HAVE MIXED OURSELVES IN THE PAST.++* Having said that, Grandma thought this was “ Much less messy for us”…—*…. But she also almost choked on her cup of tea when I told her the price. £7 a litre.—* THIS IS MORE FOR PEOPLE IN HOUSES WITH VERY TINY OR VERY FEW HOUSEPLANTS….…. OR PERHAPS IN FLATS WITH LIMITED SPACE TO BUY & STORE LARGE BAGS OF COMPOST, PERLITE & COIR, TO MIX THEMSELVES AS NEEDED. ( As cost effective bags of each, can be 15L to 20L each, which IS A LOT TO STORE.)THERE IS “PAYING FOR THE CONVENIENCE”, BUT £7 per Litre is CRAZY MONEY, as it Barely Fills a 20cm pot.…BUT….—* ….. THE QUALITY OF THE PLANT IN THE MONTHS TO COME, Will show how well the plant is now growing …. And ONLY THAT will truly be a reflection on the quality of this 1 litre bag.2* until we know how well the plant grows… especially given the £7 per litre price.

Not convinced
I'm not totally convinced that this is any better than the standard bags of soil you can get for indoor use. This is currently priced at £7.99 for a small 1 l Bag. This is quite a pricey bag that is used for simply used for indoor plants.I've been potting plants for many years and haven't gone the extra mile to get anything special and yet the plants grow perfectly well, unless I am missing something. Also the bag is resealable, for a 1 l bag, I'm not sure how small your pot would be for you not to be using the whole lot in one go.

Good quality mix.
A pretty nice mix of soil that is good as top soil or repotting plants. I added a bit more perlite in for aeration. One bag is enough for one medium plant. It came well filled and overall all it was a good mix.
