This liquid black dye exceeded my expectations. It is very easy to apply and produces an intense, even black color on both craft fabrics and clothing. The garments looked revitalized, and the color set perfectly when the instructions were followed. It offers excellent performance and great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to restore or customize fabrics.

My daughter's white Nike sports shirt was ruined in the dryer. The drycleaner said it was dryer stains and they wouldnot be able to fix. They suggested I die it. The stains were grayish purple. My daughter chose the pearly gray color. I used the washing machine method and it turned out perfect. Now she has a custom color Nike shirt! I love how it turned out that I am looking for other white items I might want to dye. It arrived with gloves. I used half the bottle to get a darker tint but I think 1/4 for 1 tshirt would have been fine. It was the first time I dyed anything.

Stained my pop flex night gown, left in boiled water , left to cool a little for around 20 minutes with pretty constant stirring. Left me with a beautiful dark grey color, was aiming for black but I enjoy this grey color more than I realized. I just needed to leave it in the dye for longer, but I am satisfied I was able to save my dress ! Use gloves ! This will stain things ! The process is a bit involved and messy , but the results are worth it. Followed instructions on back of bottle , minus leaving it for the preferred time. My dress was 100% cotton, however the satiny bows did not pick up any of the dye, which turned out fine

I Live True Blue Red tops and they are not easy to find. Now I can make my favorite white shirts red. Great job. Easy to do in the washer. No mess.

Overall I went with 4 because I was mostly happy with results. I have a black zip up hoodie that was getting super faded and had a small detergent stain which lead me to purchase the black dye. My hoodie does have a design on the front and back (a gold metallic vinyl). On my first attempt I followed the instructions. Filled a 3 gallon bucket with hot water, dawn dish soap and half the bottle of dye. I let it soak for 40 minutes. After washing it out it looked tie-dyed more than solid like I hoped. I read more reviews and tried again. On my second attempt I filled the bucket again with hot water, dawn dish soap, the rest of the black dye and added some salt. I let it soak for 20 hours and stirred it a few times. This time I was much happier it was more solid. It’s not perfect but it looks way better! The gold parts still show perfectly! Overall for the price I think it is worth a shot, it was easy to do I think doing a shirt would be easier since it’s not a thick. I should’ve taken a before and after picture but I forgot.

This worked perfectly on a white nylon top and turned it the prettiest shade of pink. The white cotton jeans were a fail. I used as directed and the fabric turned pink, but the seams, waistband, anywhere there was thread stayed white. I removed the top, and added a little bleach to the hot clear, water with soap to remove some of the color, and put in the jeans. This worked, but the jeans turned light peach, were saved, but not the color I was needing. I would use again on nylon fabric, but not cotton.

This might be the best dye job I’ve done! I will say, it definitely makes a difference when you are dyeing something old, stained and worn, vs. something new and never has been worn. I dyed these new white Levi’s. They are 97% cotton, and I wasn’t really worried about any of the nylon/spandex stitching turning out perfect. This is roughly 14-16 quarts of boiling water (my largest pot is 8 quarts, and I used 2 boiling pots… 3 gallons is 12 quarts so I may have gone over a bit but the pots were not completly full🤷‍♀️) in a plastic bucket with 1c salt and a tablespoon of Dawn. The big thing I noticed this time vs previous dye sessions is I kept stirring/moving this CONSTANTLY for the first 10 minutes on a timer, using a long pair of metal bbq tongs so I could grip and mash and really get in there. 20 minutes additional stirring about every two minutes, so 30 minutes dye time total. I used the whole bottle of dye for one pair of shorts, as I was looking for a deep traditional orange color. It took about 20 minutes of “kneading” and twisting the shorts in my sink under running warm water to get the excess dye out until the water ran clear, and I think this is an important step especially if you plan on washing your dyed clothes in the future with regular loads of laundry. It did not effect the color at all. I think they turned out great! The next time I dye used/worn clothes, I think they will turn out better if I do that initial 10 minutes of constant stirring, using the whole bottle, don’t crowd the bucket, and stir stir stir! I ruined a son's white dress shirt in the laundry because I forgot to add a color guard cloth to the machine. So, I decided to dye his shirt and repurpose it. This liquid fabric dye worked great! I was surprised at how easy the instructions were to use it. The coverage was fantastic and there was no bleed resistance. It was a good value for the money to repurpose the shirt rather than discarding it. I highly recommend it.

Works great-I fill the kitchen sink with hot hot water, 1/2 a bottle of this dye and a squirt of dish soap and I was able to dye 5 shirts, a light jacket, 2 long dresses and a tote. I rinse them in cool water until the water runs clear and then let them dry and I can throw them in with the regular unsorted cold-wash laundry the next day. The color is a bright apple green on cottons and a more muted sage on non-cotton fabrics. Rit's been around since I was a kid in the 80s and it still works if you want to dye your clothes different colors for more longevity/coordination. I get so bored of my clothes and this is a cheap solution!
