I got a Boos cutting board for my wife’s birthday and her first comment was “we need to get all the things to maintain it properly…” I handed her the next gift and it was this kit. Perfect and so helpful that you can get everything together.

Grandson made a cutting board at school and gave it to me as a gift. I needed to find a product that works on new wood cutting boards. Saw this 3 -piece set , read out the products and gave it a try. Worked out great, easy to apply and looks nice after drying.

These treatments for the Boos wood cutting boards gives the right start to a great product. When used b4 first use, then every month or so thereafter, the Boos boards should last for a long time and still deflect liquids while looking like the day you bought it.

I purchased this product a few years ago and at that time, they arrived in a very sturdy plain cardboard box that sort of resembled a "log." The box was plain other than saying Boos on it. The box was longer than it was high and it had a nice "wrap" lid that made the box the perfect design to keep these 3 care products inside for storage on the pantry shelf. Unfortunately for me, I gave that away as a gift to someone. Today I received the replacement I purchased and I was taken aback by the cardboard the items were shipped in. The box has Boos all over it but is not sturdy and is about 12-inches tall and 10-inches wide. The items are not firmly held inside, they rattle and there is no way to shut the lid without taping it. Storing on the shelf will NOT be easy because the box is not sturdy and has a tendency to fall over. Why did Boos change the quality? Change for the sake of change is not always a positive endeavor. I am considering returning this because it is NOT what I expected.

Start a text chain with your kitchen nerd friends and make sure they are oiling their boards every month! It really helps and the Boos oil is much better that any discount mineral oil you will find. Makes water droplets bead up high and prevents seepage of bacteria and smells. This not only has the oil, but the follow up wax which greatly enhances the hydrophobia. Do you need the applicator? No. Does it make you feel like a woodworker taking care of your fine tools? Yes. Be a cutting board geek and take care in your kitchen.
