I have been using this powder for a while now and have learned how to get around some of its issues. First, like many reviewers have said, the brush is impossible to squeeze back into the cap. That is why I was elated to discover that there is a built-in sleeve that you can pull up to compress the bush to fit into the cap! Problem solved! Also, I've found that the cap stays on better if you break off the little stick/rod thing in the cap. And I've had no issues with with the powder spilling out. Second, you CAN and SHOULD wash the brush, it's just a little bit of a process. i actually recommend buying two of these so that you still have one to use while the brush of the other is drying. The KEY TRICK is to straighten out a paper clip and run it though the tube of the brush to clear out any clogged powder before and after you wash the brush. Ideally water should be able to run through the tube. Then leave it to completely dry, bristles facing down. The only other issue I have with this powder is that it does leave a dark orange tint on my skin after I apply it a few times throughout the day. That is annoying and I haven't found a solution other than to not use it as liberally and to still reapply my liquid sunscreen. If you have medium to tan skin this shouldn't be a problem. The positives of this powder for me are that it is super convenient, helps control shine, and evens out my skin tone a bit. And of course the sun protection! Hope this review helps some of you!

** May 2022 ** The pandemic hit, so I was mostly staying home. I also had my first child & noticed my skin take a huge hit, so I wanted to get back to taking better care of it. I was searching high and low for another SPF powder and kept coming back to this one. The price has increased from $17 since I last purchased it. My skincare regimen has mostly stayed the same, but I've updated some items here and there. I also now follow the skincare routine from the book, Pure Skin, which is inspired by the minimal Japanese skincare of geishas: 1. Purify: Camellia (tsubaki) oil for oil cleansing 2. Polish: Rice bran powder to exfoliate 3. Plump: Alteya Organics flower waters (AM: rose & chamomile, PM: rose & lavender) to hydrate 4. Nourish: Camellia oil to moisturize 5. Protect: Derma-E SPF Powder mixed with silk powder When touching up the spf powder, I set it with Alteya rose water. Adding the silk powder to the SPF powder is optional but it really helps with smoothing out my complexion & silk is just so good for your skin in general! ** Previous Review from 2020 ** I'm now in my 30s and have been mistaken for being in college! After 2 years, this SPF powder is still my favorite. I've tried similar products from high-end makeup stores, but their ingredients and price point don't come close to Derma-E's mineral powder. I bought this recently and used it a couple of times. I love both the product and the idea. Product looks great on skin, and really helps with the shine. Convenient for reapplications. No burns, so it works. But, the container that holds the powder came off after a few uses, and the contents completely spilled. It happened on a public countertop, so I could not salvage it by scooping it up (for hygiene reasons). I think the problem is that the cap screws in, but only twists once. It therefore became loose with minimal effort. Unfortunately, the packaging wasted 35 of my hard-earned dollars. Issue aside, it is a great product that I wish I still had :(

Ok, I will say today is the first day Im using it, so I might update this review. But right away I am in love! Goes on evenly, blends in with my skin tone, which is light, but not "Fair". I was a die hard Colorscience Sunforgettable user for years in color Medium, if this helps. However, I could not afford this anymore and sought an alternative. I am super happy with this so far. it feels light, not cakey. I had no problems getting the product to come out, nor getting the brush to retract back into the tube - as other reviewers have said. Perhaps it depends on manufacturing and they may have improved this since those reviews. I will assume it IS waterproof or AT LEAST water resistant, as I spilled some in my sink by mistake and was unable to get it off without some serious elbow grease and some spray thing like 409! It DEFINITELY did not easily get splashed down the drain! As to sun protection, I always use a lotion SPF everyday including in the winter and on cloudy days,. this is my touch up method of protection for a 2nd or even 3rd layer. So far I really recommend this. Maybe I'm premature in writing a review, I was just so pleasantly surprised, I couldn't resist! If you have Prime (which I do) its worth a shot. you can always return it if there is a problem. Great Value!

I am what my mother calls “clear” - red hair and green eyes. I burn just thinking about the sun. But in the past 3 years I have become insanely allergic to cream sunscreens. My face would puff up and I ended up spending too much time in the ER. So I had to find alternatives. Enter powdered sunscreens! I bought this product last summer and at first I didn’t like it and subsequently didn’t use it. It is slightly too dark for my clear girl complexion. But I took it anyway on a trip last week to New Orleans. I ended up using this more than my Supergoop! powder sunscreen as it fit better in my cute purse. The things we do for fashion, right? I was pleasantly surprised by the Derma E powder. My skin wasn’t irritated in the slightest, and it worked just as well on my arms and legs as it did on my face. Looking back at photos where I used the sunscreen, there was no flashback so I wasn’t pasty white. I even looked - gasp! Tan! Or tan for my skin lol. I did get slightly tanned during the trip - this sunscreen powder is only SPF 30 after all. I’d recommend this sunscreen powder for people with fair to light skin tones. It worked great!

I love this - I have been using this product last 2 years almost daily and I'm on my third bottle now. It protects my face from burning and feels so much lighter and easier to apply than a cream, and I can put it on over makeup. Love that it's unscented. I will sometimes combine it with a facial SPF moisturizer for extra protection, if I'm going to be out in the sun a long time. However, on the first two bottles, the cap came loose and would no longer snap into the bottle. Luckily it doesn't really "leak" but it doesn't feel very hygienic when inside a bag. Taking off 1 star bc it's quite inconvenient. Hasn't happened with my third bottle yet so maybe it's been addressed.

I’m a skincare junkie and SPF is absolutely essential for me. I always use a moisturizer or primer with built in SPF, but since I wear makeup over it, reapplying has been a challenge. That’s where this powder comes in. I love that it comes with a built-in brush which makes application a breeze. I use this two ways: as my translucent/setting powder over my mineral foundation and under my highlighter and bronzer/blush OR as my finishing powder/final step on top of ALL my makeup. If you’re using this over your makeup, just be aware that it will tone down the pigment of your blush/bronzer slightly. This can actually be a good thing if you over-applied. It does look a little powdery on the skin, but I minimize this by following up with setting spray (which also contains SPF). In terms of pigment, it can look somewhat light and ashy on me but only if I don’t buff it in well enough. For reference, my skin is medium-tan with warm/yellow undertones. Overall, this is great as a finishing powder and the packaging is convenient. You can keep it in your makeup bag or purse and reapply on the go. It’s just perfect. I will definitely repurchase!

I just bought this product as a substitute to the usual Sunscreen products in cream/lotion form. This product is unscented, easy to use and very light! It’s still too early to tell whether I will have Milia seeds after using this but so far, it looks promising.

Seems to work great. Not familiar with the brand, but the ingredients and price make this a great pick vs something like Colorscience for 4x the price. No complaints and gives a nice matte finish!
