I have had the same mattress for the past 5 years, and it came to me already five years old. I admit, as a night owl I didn't consider that I might have a more challenging time going to sleep at night because my bed was uncomfortable. I got a mattress topper for Christmas, and it helped a bit, but I didn't notice a huge difference. When my friend mentioned she'd bought a new mattress under similar circumstances, I began searching for a new one immediately. As a student, I obviously cannot really afford to drop $1000 on those fancy mattresses people kept recommending. The Zinus mattress caught my eye because A) it was recommended on just about every site I looked for "High-quality, affordable mattresses," and B) I have a 2-year-old Zinus bedframe that I love and has served me so well. I've had the mattress for a few days now and although it arrived a bit too firm for my liking, it has since softened. Granted, I spent some time walking on it to break it down faster. I expect the mattress to become even softer as it continues to modify to my body shape. Mattress preferences are extremely subjective, but for a 120-pound female, this mattress feels heavenly to me. I've been so excited about how it feels that I'm spending a lot of time in my bed and trying to go to bed earlier. I'm biased toward the brand but I will modify this review if I notice the quality of the mattress degrading. It’s been six months since I purchased this mattress and it has been such a game changer. It’s so comfy that it’s sent me down a rabbit hole of getting new, equally as comfy bedding to accommodate it. My bed is my favorite place in the world right now. I think for me this seemed like one of those too good to be true things because a mattress in a box is a weird concept for sure, but I’ve not had a single issue with it in the time I’ve had it. To anybody on the fence, there’s so many mattresses out there that purport to be one thing or another or the best in the business and the truth is it’s so subjective. But I don’t think the expense of a product has to equate to its quality. The $1000 mattresses aren’t necessarily better sometimes. This mattress was affordable and has proven itself. I’ve ordered this bed probably 6 times now. 3 times I’ve had issues with the order. Summary: if you happen to get one of the firm ones they are amazingly comfortable and a good price. As well as long lasting as my 2016 one is still good as new comfort wise. That being said there seems to be some decent quality variability issues where you might get a bed that might as well be a soft couch cushion. Worth the price when you get one of their firm ones. Not sure how to avoid this without returning and rebuying until you luck into the good ones. Quality/Order timeline: 2016: Ordered Queen 12 inch bed for myself and it said delivered but was not there. Reordered after refund and it was an amazing bed. Very firm and comfortable. And even today it holds up as my guest bedroom mattress. I’ve had multiple people comment on how good it is and my mom even got one after this after she loved it (from me). 2020: Bought 2 more 12 inch queens for my family’s house and they were great. 2021: Bought 1 for my brother who lived with me for some time and when it was delivered it was really soft. Like the softest bed your can find and the edge support was terrible. I have no idea how the original firmness could change so much but I thought it was a fluke so I returned and reordered through amazon. The replacement was firmer but still not as firm as original. We decided to keep it as he was not picky. 2023: I order my mom a king 12 inch for her birthday. It arrived great and was super firm like the original. She loves it. 2024: With my mom’s success I decide to upgrade my bedframe and get a king myself. The mattress they send me is embarrassingly soft. If I sit on the edge I sink all the way down to my bedframe laying in the center is still not comfortable but not as bad as the edge. I decide to return it to Amazon to rebuy it as I assume it’s a quality issue. They send me another and it’s the exact same thing, really soft. Sincd then I’ve had trouble sleeping, neck pains, and because the top edge sags it makes it harder to sleep right with reflux since my head is often tilted down a bit. The edge support is absolutely terrible on the new 12 inch king I got and the center is still not as firm as the original one I bought or my moms recently. I decided to return it this week. I know zinus/amazon will take my king back again and let me rebuy but it’s a pain each time to unbox, try out, and return. Not to mention they almost certainly throw away the ones I send back. So unless zinus can guarantee the firmness of another order, for the sake of avoiding waste and effort I won’t buy this mattress again. It’s a shame as the original one was my absolute favorite mattress.

Purchased this mattress for 2nd home guest room. We did sleep on it for a week until our other ones arrived. This mattress is a little on the harder side but I think it will soften up over time. Even with the firmness being a little harder then I like it was still a very good night sleep. I also gave it 5 stars because we had been cleaning, remodeling, painting and all that good stuff so I was pretty sore from the day but I still woke up refreshed and ready to go for round 2. I believe this was due to the mattress which is a huge plus in my book. It arrived in a small box but inflated immediately to the noted 12 inch thickness. Great night sleep so lots of support. I also normally run hot when I sleep and had no issues in the hot Florida week I slept on it.

It's a good, cheap mattress. I didn't really expect to like this mattress as much as I did. The old model had fiberglass but I can confirm that the new one doesn't. Check the tag on the bottom if you're worried. You'll get a card that has the manufacture date too, if it's 2022 or later you should be good. I'd personally call this bed firm, perhaps leaning on extra firm. It softens as you lay on it as all memory foam does, but I wasn't expecting it to be so hard. I'd also call it pretty warm, but it's not insufferable for me at least. Maybe try the Gel Cooling variant if you run hot in bed? I think it's very comfortable, provides great support (like all memory foam does), and it arriving in a box made it easy to lug around before I was ready for it. The corners didn't fully expand for me and are around 8'' (rather than 12'') but I don't mind. I think they fudge the numbers a bit, since at the center the bed seems to be 10-11'' but maybe they measure it differently than what I'm doing. regardless I don't think it really affects the quality of the bed (especially since most beds are like 6-8'' anyway).

I bought this mattress to replace a VERY old dense foam mattress that I topped with an egg crate foam plus a memory foam topper, that created a combo that was perfect for me. I wanted to emulate the feeling of my prior mattress and this one had the dense and memory foam layers, all in one, which I hoped would eliminate the need for adding any toppers. Well, we have had the bed for several weeks now, and we love everything about it. We chose the 12 inch version, but that was overkill, and we would have been just as happy with a 10 or even an 8 inch, because the mattress is so well made. Once you open the package, just lay the mattress down and allow it a couple of hours to fully *fluff up*. It will expand to it's full size within just a few hours. It offers the perfect combination of comfort and support. I'm a side sleeper and too much firmness can result in so much pressure that your shoulders, arms and fingers can get tingles or numbness. But, if it's too soft, your back will be very angry with you! That has not been the case with this mattress. You will feel little to no transfer of motion from your husband, wife, partner, or pets that you allow in bed. I have found that I settle in quickly and don't wake up feeling the need to switch positions all night. That's the best sign of a great mattress to me. This mattress is very firm - much firmer than the previous Zinus memory foam version. I do not find it comfortable. For reference, we had the previous version of the Zinus green tea mattress for about 5 years and LOVE it, very comfortable and the perfect balance of soft and supportive. We only replaced our previous Zinus because we upgraded from a Queen to a King. This new version of Zinus is much firmer. I don't find it to be very comfortable. Even with a down topper added, it is much too firm for me. I am a side sleeper, so I do like a softer mattress. My husband is a back sleeper who likes a firmer mattress, and even he finds this mattress too firm. We've had it for about 5 months and have decided to get rid of it. We're sad to have wasted the money, but good sleep is too important.

Bought this for the guest room, but after trying it myself for one night, I think this will replace our other conventional mattresses in the future. First impression: surprisingly firm, yet delightfully comfy as the foam slowly adapts to your body. Next morning: you are in memory foam heaven, all your muscles are relaxed & smiling, and you do not want to get out of bed. Ever again. My guests may never leave. I might even pick a fight with my sweet boyfriend, just to get to sleep in the guest room again. The cooling gel adds firmness to what is already a well designed support system, and the memory foam gives such an indulgent, luxurious comfort, you’ll wonder if you’ve sleepwalked to a fancy hotel. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if every hotel chain started buying these. With a mattress this good, for a price this low, there is no excuse for any uncomfortable mattresses to exist anymore. I’ve only had mine for a month, but I’ve heard great things about durability from friends and other users, and with a 10 year warranty, this is a pretty low risk investment. Setup is a 2 person job, unless you just really like a comedic challenge. It is fun to open the box, roll it out on the bed, and watch it poof up. All poofed up, it looks exactly like any other mattress, and the size and fit dimensions are as expected. Give it a few days to fully “off-gas” before using it. It does firm up in the first few days. And please, if you can, try to recycle your old mattress responsibly- there are many orgs doing great things to keep them out of landfills, for the same price that that sad old mattress store was going to charge you to take your old mattress away to a landfill, after they sold you an overpriced, less comfortable mattress. You will never go back into a mattress store once you’ve tried this new mattress.

Replaced the mattress that came in our trailer with this one and it’s been a massive upgrade—way more comfortable and supportive, no more waking up with a sore back like the flimsy stock mattress used to cause. The cooling gel memory foam actually helps too, not waking up overheated in the middle of the night like before. Setup was easy, expands and airs out quickly once unboxed with barely any smell. Feels like a real quality mattress despite coming compressed in a box, holds its shape well and doesn’t sag in the middle. Great affordable way to make trailer sleeping way more comfortable, would definitely recommend if you’re stuck with a cheap factory mattress.

My partner and I bought this mattress 5 years ago in the queen size and it was awesome. It was soft but firm and we were able to sit up properly in it. We wanted to upgrade so we went back to the same link and chose the king option. We unpacked the bed, let it fill out to full form and put in our room, only to lay on it and completely sink into it. This is not the same firmness even though its the same style just in a king. We are not very pleased with this change or mistake in shipping. If your product changes you should let people know in the description.

I bought this based on the price and some of the reviews. Can't speak on longevity since its only been a couple weeks. The mattress out of the box took about two hours to almost fully expand. With a little walking and rolling on it, it was ready to sleep on the first night. Not super soft but not firm either and seems to support in all the right areas. There was no odour out of the plastic like other memory foam mattresses. Cover is nice and soft, however notes it should not be removed to wash so I am purchasing a zippered mattress cover to go over that so that it can be washed if needed. For the price point this is an excellent mattress and do not have any of the complaints others have noted.

I was nervous buying a mattress online, before ever trying it out, but after reading all the reviews, I decided to take the risk. Let me tell you, it was worth the risk! Shipped right to my door by Purolator. Even came a couple days early than expected, which was a nice surprise. The mattress started to inflate immediately, no smell and up to its full 12 inches within a couple hours. The memory foam is great for my back pain. It’s a good medium-firm. I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the ground, like I normally would on a memory foam mattress. This is definitely a great option if you’re someone who suffers from back pain, or even just a side sleeper. Also great if you sleep with a restless partner like me, my boyfriend got a good night sleep without the bed moving or bouncing around anytime I turned. I would compare this to an Endy, but better, and half the price.

Its okay for what it is, its med hard. A little to hard for me. It's a 12 inch queen that after I took another reviewers advice, I took a hair dryer to the corners. They plumped out And it's about 11.5. Inches. You sink into it even though its firm an theres times it makes a little dip, and it's a pain to roll over. I had to get a mattress protector with a little more cushion to stop that. The biggest issue is when hubby is home from his shift. Our old mattress springs went out and it was like trying to get over a hump in the middle to cuddle. Well this one you sink in the middle into each other. Making the bed feel like a V. It's hard to roll away from him. But great for cuddling. (Hes average, I'm on the bigger side) I was expecting more to be honest from all the great reviews. I still have back pain, though it's a little better from our old mattress. And the foam is a little off sided but I think think that affects it much. If it was a bit softer and didnt make you sink into each other I would have given it 5 star. But for that it gets 3.
