This is an excellent little reference book that contrasts standard
This is an excellent little reference book that contrasts standard, pharmacological psychiatric treatments, which are often harmful long term, with modern, orthomolecular treatments and gives many case histories. Hoffer may have been the greatest healer of the mind, and body since Jesus Christ. I highly recommend purchasing this book for your reference library as Hoffer was 'the' man who invented the field of Orthomolecular psychiatry along with Linus Pauling.

Fascinating, moving, and controversial
The book is a fascinating account of a forgotten, under-appreciated genius, Dr. Abram Hoffer PhD MD. It gives a moving and heartfelt look into his career in psychiatry and the many obstacles & hurdles he faced. It is controversial because he offers up -- with passion and conviction -- his 'orthomolecular' approach, which is quackery to some and suppressed genius by others. Wonderful book!

Best Book on Psychiatry I have ever read
Will change your life - if you do not have mental health problems - you are nonetheless surrounded by people who do. Fascinating book. Full of clinical anecdotes and case histories. Highly recommended.
