Good, Not Great
The first 150 pages are a masterclass...the last 150 pages are effectivly a textbook. Loaded with nuggets - and some excellent pithy one liners that I scribbled down for later use. Scott is a one of a kind human.

Great overview - and PERFECT for new grads!
I've been a fan of the podcast for a while but I LOVE this book - it's simple, funny, approachable, and covers all the high notes. I had already learned all this stuff *the hard way* over many years and many mistakes, and I SO wish I had had a book like this when I was 21. I plan to gift it to all my 3 kids and many neices, nephews and cousins besides!

A Practical Guidebook for Creating a Great Life
There is so much good advice packed into this one book, that it's difficult to summarize. The most important idea is that "wealth" encompasses much more than material security, though that is certainly the basic necessity for a good life. Galloway writes about the importance of character, integrity, self-knowledge, and compassion for oneself and others, as being fundamental to wealth. His "formula" for wealth comprises four areas: Stoicism, Focus, Time, and Diversification. Stoicism: "...is about living an intentional, temperate life in and out of work. It's about saving money, for sure, but also developing strong character and connecting with a community." Focus: "...is primarily about earning an income. Time: "...is your most important asset. It starts an ends with an understanding of the most powerful force in the universe: compound interest." Diversification: "...personal finance questions, a road map for making sound investment decisions and for being an educated participant in the financial marketplace." Galloway writes about each of these areas in simple, clear terms. In addition to terrific graphs and charts to illustrate concepts, he liberally intersperses events and stories from his own life, which really bring home the importance of the concept and how it operates in real life. His book is also inspiring, as he discusses, in a pretty matter-of-fact (i.e., not self-pitying) way, his childhood of relative poverty, raised by his single mother and his difficult relationship with his father. He also talks about the lessons he's learned along the way, in business, finance and as a father, son, friend and citizen. The book teaches so much, and at the same time is engaging, funny and is really hard to put down. I can't remember the last time I so enjoyed reading a book about personal finance.

Profound Knowledge written in a very structured and easy to understand way
Scott Galloways Algebra of Wealth is 100% pure gold. It is the very first book I have read that distills information about the complicated world of finances in a easy to understand and streamlined way. Some of the concepts I already knew, however it was fragmented knowledge from a wide variety of sources. Here it is presented in a structured way and it feels like a walktrough guide to reach financial security. The last two pages of this book "The Epilogue" made the hairs of my skin stand still and it describes with amazing clarity the reason why I so highly value financial security. Scott, Thank you very much for this Book. For me it has reached the level of what I call a "dead sea scroll", or in other words, a book that contains profound knowledge. One day I will pass it on to my son, not only as a guide for him to reach financial security, but also to help him understand what the endgame really is: everything meaningful is about other humans. Cheers J

OK
This book is OK. I'm older, so maybe a lot didn't apply to me, but the first 2/3 of the book really needs an editor. I also thought the book was a little too self-serving. Good basic information on types of investments in the last chapter.

Great book, not so great hardcover.
The contents of the book are very engaging, I have no negative remarks in that regard. I purchased the hardcover edition, but was a bit disappointed because the cover is actually just a loose plastic sleeve and not printed directly on the book itself.

Unconventional pearls of wisdom about saving money
A matter-of-fact approach debunking common-place slogans like "follow your dreams" in the favour of prioritising discipline and well thought out short and long term goals. Causes much rethinking on one's common place assumptions about wealth, economic security and debt trouble during the reading as well as about one's aims in life. Introduction to economic notions like passive income and burn rate...

Good book on a very important topics of financial security and how to achieve it
I liked how the books was marketed - so I bought it - and I liked the content and the writing style a lot. The text is well written, easy to read, it finds a way to address some very important topics that most people would benefit from learning about, regardless of their age or profession or previous experience or interest in personal finance and building to financial security. There should be a copy of this book in every household - and both parents and kids would benefit from reading it.
