I'm 95% sure they really are 100% alpaca, which makes this a bargain!
I was skeptical of these because the price seemed low for 100% alpaca and I saw a multiple reviews saying that they knew alpaca and this is not alpaca. I saw three things being cited in particular: they are not as soft as they are used to, they are not as warm, and they are stretchier. But the price was so good I figured it was worth a shot. I am extremely pleasantly surprised that these appear to be 100% alpaca, as advertised, and in fact even better than I expected! In terms of softness, I also have a lot of alpaca stuff and alpaca socks are normally blends with synthetic fibers. Wool, even alpaca wool can be somewhat "scratchy," and synthetic fibers tend to make alpaca feel softer. Comparing these socks to a scarf I know to be 100% alpaca and socks that are 35% acrylic, the acrylic-blend socks are softer; this feels like the 100% alpaca scarf. These are not as warm and somewhat elastic because of the weave, but they are still very warm and I like the fact that they are somewhat breathable. There does appear to be a tiny amount of spandex or elastic at the cuff, but it's only along the very top rim and completely surrounded by pure alpaca. If you have literally none you need a garter to keep your socks up, but this is actually less spandex or elastic than most socks, which have a band about 3/8" thick.I love these and I ordered another set, but I also have a thing about synthetic fibers. I can put up with acrylic and rayon/vicose in blends, but I hate nylon and spandex and I'm allergic to polyester. The flipside of this is that these are going to wear out quicker, especially in the heel, and the elastic may wear out quicker as well. So if you want warmth and durability, you probably do want a blend, but I am very happy that these are comfortable, breathable, and seem to be as advertised, and they are surprisingly cheap as well!

Warm and Comfortable
I bought these for my wife to wear around the house. She's quite happy with them. Machine washable and survives the dryer just fine.

No lanolin oils, because alpacas are related to camel's not sheep
When it arrives, it's kind of scratchy, much like wool Sox would be.I believe it washes softer.Quality is comparable to wool Sox.I do recommend these if you have trouble with allergies to wool .Winters been mild since these were received, so I don't know how well they compare to the 100% cotton Sox I've been buying, but they appear to be warmer & definitely a thicker cable knit ( not sure that the right term for knitting).Really appears to be a quality product & i recommend a try if your looking for a alternative to wool .Price is responsible/ better compared to other alpaca socks sellers. If, washes with regular clothing, no special washing requirements to like wool has .

Warmer than wool
The socks keep my feet warmer than the thicker wool pairs that I own. If my feet sweat they also dry quicker. Some reviews don’t like the fact that you can see through them, but I don’t find that as an issue since they are warm. I will say they’re not as comfortable as some of my wool socks. They are a bit on the coarser side.

These socks suck
I bought 8 pairs to give out as stocking stuffers for Christmas. Had an extra bundle that I kept for myself. I had bought alpaca socks years before from another business and loved them, so I wanted to share with my family something I enjoyed. Since the state was hit with freezing temps this week, I thought this would be the perfect time to throw them on and stay warm. I thoroughly regret it and would return them all if I could.First off, they are only soft to the touch. Once you put them on, they feel no different than any other woven sock. You could go to your closest big box store, buy the cheapest pair of fuzzy socks, and they will probably be softer and warmer to wear than these. The absolute worst part though is how they feel walking around in them. I don't know if it's the way they were woven or if it's the materials used to make them, but it feels like I am walking on a thick layer of sandpaper. I don't understand how a fabric can feel both soft and gritty at the same time. I put on an old pair of my alpaca socks I got from another company and the difference is night and day.In the end, even though it's labeled as alpaca socks, I don't believe they actually are. They aren't as soft as alpaca socks. They aren't as warm as alpaca socks. They aren't as comfortable as alpaca socks. What I really hate is that I bought these for other people and now this is what they are going to think of in the future when it comes to alpaca socks. The socks were a rip off. Not even close to being worth how much the company is charging for them. Spend your money the way you want, but I seriously suggest buying from someone else.

Sizing is terribly small. Had to give them to my daughter to wear.
As the title says, improper sizing made these socks useless to me. I'm a men's size 14 and I'm used to socks fitting small, but this was ridiculous. My daughter is a women's size 7. They fit her fine. And, yes I ordered for a size 13. (they're largest size) I was highly impressed with the "Hollow Alpaca Boot Socks" I bought here on Amazon. They're a very warm and soft high quality sock.

Warm and comfy
They are cotton and Alpaca, and a bit baggy, 80s leg warmer look, but still warm and comfortable.

Warm, but a bit uncomfortable
While these socks are warm, they are uncomfortable due to the large weave pattern. I would suggest looking for socks that offer a tighter weave.I have posted a photo showing the sock I purchased on this order and another alpaca sock I purchased in the past. The sock on the left has a tight weave which makes is very warm, soft and comfortable. The sock on the right is a sock from this order. The large weave makes it much less soft and very uncomfortable on the bottom of your feet when you wear it.

Bueno
