I have never seen so many colours and their shades together in one package! 8 greens 7 browns 3 greys 1 white 3 yellows 2 oranges 1 red 5 pinks 3 purples 3 blues pencils are easy to hold due to their triangular shape; non-slip due to off-set slide guards (which look like dents; those "wooden" areas you see on the picture); the sharpener that comes with the package is the usual round one which still works+made in germany yes, the pencils are made in china (like most staff these days), but it is not inferior in quality the colours are bright you don't need to use a lot of force to make the lines bright haven't written many reviews lately, but was amazed when opened the box highly recommend

Lyra's quality is pretty much legendary, and these pencils conform to that standard: the colors are beautiful and the feel as the write is unparalleled - the tip glides across the paper in a smooth and waxy way that defies the low standards of certain other brands better left unmentioned. Only Berol and prismacolor give me similar satisfaction, but I actually prefer Lyra. Only - they're usually so expensive. Somehow, though, this particular item was greatly discounted and I have yet to figure out why. I am very glad to have my set - it will last for years - and am thinking about buying another for my 5-year-old artist daughter.

It just arrived and I have already tried. I love the design (with tiny holes carved along the pencils), the quality (non-breaking), the color and THE PRICE !! the triangular shape helps to stay on the table. Although the box says it is made in China. There is even a bonus pencil sharpener (not included in the picture) is made in Germany.

Very easy to hold these pencils because of their shape. Nice colors and easy to sharpen. I prefer them to Crayola as they last longer, my kids don't break them and don't chew them.

These are perfectly fine colored pencils. I'm giving them 4 stars and not 5 because I was expecting the quality of the lead to be out of this world, and I wasn't too impressed. BUT they look really nice, good size, I like the color selection, and the grooves are nice touch for toddlers. I think the price is fair. -Natalie Linden

We homeschool and have an entire art table that is always filled with supplies. We are not a fan of crayons and rotate through several types of markers but we always have LYRA pencils. Up until now we have just used the ferby style but my oldest daughter was wanting thin pencils. These are great.

I’m completely puzzled by these reviews. These pencils are dry as a bone, lay down the faintest bit of color, and literally crumble as you use them. My guess is they’ve been sitting in some warehouse for 5 plus years. Completely nonusable! Going back. What a pain!

Lyra produces a really great product. Pricey but worth it. Much better than Prismacolor in my opinion. The pencils are comfortable to work with and the color is strong and vibrant on the page.

Very good value for money, quality is amazing. These are some of the best pencils I've ever used!
