Reliable, Convenient, and Makes Meal Prep So Easy
I absolutely love my Crock-Pot. It has become one of the most-used appliances in my kitchen because it makes preparing delicious meals incredibly simple. Whether I’m making soups, stews, chili, pulled chicken, pot roast, or even desserts, everything comes out tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. One of my favorite features is being able to add the ingredients in the morning and come home to a hot, ready-to-eat meal. It saves so much time on busy days and makes family dinners stress-free. The temperature settings are easy to use, and the cooking is consistent every time. The Crock-Pot is also easy to clean, durable, and large enough to prepare meals for family gatherings or leftovers for the week. I appreciate how dependable it is and how little effort it takes to create meals that taste like they’ve been cooking all day—because they have! For anyone looking for a kitchen appliance that saves time, simplifies meal prep, and delivers great results, I highly recommend a Crock-Pot. It’s an affordable investment that quickly becomes a kitchen essential.

Terrific and reliable!!
My last Crock Pot was over twenty years old before it died, so I know this new one will be with me a long time. The new one is huge, perfect for making my dog’s food, but now I can freeze twice as much. I love the size, I can prep food after cooking in the crock pot and have food in the freezer for well over a week, ready to reheat. I love it’s not a boring color! Simple to use, dump your ingredients, turn on the temperature, and walk away! I highly recommend!!

Standard crock pot
Perfect crock pot. This is easy to use, durable and easy to clean. Works great for those days you just want to set it and forget it. The temperature control is spot on and nice to have. Keeps food hot and cooks with ease.

Solid, Dependable, and Reliable
This is the single nicest crockpot that my family has ever owned. I appreciate that it's just, what it is, a simple, crockpot that cooks things slowly. I use liners, so nothing ever sticks, the temperature control is there, the only addition that I would make would be safety latches to keep the top from accidentally being removed. Otherwise this is as safe as a crock pot gets. And I caught it on amazon resale, it was brand new in the box for 25% off, though it would have been well worth the asking price.

Great crockpot
I don't know if I was just excited to have a working crockpot or what since I didn't realize my old one wasn't quite working right for awhile. The directions said cook on low for 5 to 6 hours but since it was new I set the timer for 4 hours and 15 minutes to check the chicken. When I checked the chicken it was perfectly done at that time and ready to be taken out. I have used it twice in the last couple weeks and seems to be consistent. Definitely worth the value.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
I have NEVER written a review on anything, and I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years, but this slow cooker has inspired me to give my humble opinion. I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad slow cooker. So when my last slow cooker bit the dust during the holidays last year, I just bopped on to Amazon and figured that I would pick up a medium of the road slow cooker for a reasonable price and all would be well with the world, once again. Since I was planning on serving a beef roast for Christmas dinner, I wanted to make sure that I got one big enough and it wouldn't take 15 hours to cook. I quickly browsed through the various slow cookers on Amazon, read a few reviews and purchased what I thought was a lovely cooker - Crock-Pot SCCPVL610-S 6-Quart Programmable Cook & Carry Oval Slow Cooker, Stainless Steel. It was only $50.00 and I figured that it would fit the bill, nicely. Boy, was I wrong! Right out of the box, Christmas Day, I could tell that this slow cooker and I weren't going to get along. It heated up way too quickly, ran HOT the entire cooking time (on low), and by the time I was ready to serve dinner most of it was stuck to the side of the cooker. Dinner tasted slightly burnt, the veggies were WAY over cooked and even after soaking the darn thing for 2 hours after serving the meal, I never could get all the stuck on crud off the sides. Well, needless to say, I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree sometimes, so I thought that I would give this worthless piece of junk another few tries before I finally gave up and threw it in the dumpster. Ah, but now this is where the good part starts...Back to Amazon to look at slow cookers. (I absolutely LOVE Amazon and my Prime membership) This time I decided that I was going to REALLY read all the reviews, compare and then make a logical, fact based decision. I immediately liked the reviews I read for this slow cooker - Hamilton Beach 33182 8-Quart Oval Slow Cooker, Black - but was somewhat concerned by a couple of people who said that it "ran hot". Having had that experience, I didn't want to repeat it, so I continued looking at every slow cooker under God's green Earth. I kept thinking that there had to be something wrong with a cooker that was so big and yet so inexpensive, so I kept looking. After another couple of hours of reading, debating and analyzing, I decided that I would give this slow cooker a try. Well, it arrived safe and sound in just a couple of days, of course. (Still love Amazon) And I proceeded to use it today for the first time. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SLOW COOKER! The temperature was perfect! The dinner was perfect! The clean up was perfect! And, once again, I am in love with my slow cooker and can hardly wait for Winter so I can give it a really good work out. If you are reading this and considering purchasing this slow cooker, BUY IT! It's absolutely wonderful. Good temperature, great size, fantastic price and all around, I think the best slow cooker I have ever owned. I'm considering buying another one as a back up. Okay, now you know why I never write reviews...There just isn't enough hours in the day. But this product was well worth the time. :)

This is large.
This is big. It works great and holds enough for a crowd. Cleans up beautifully however it is heavy. Manual switch. Lid does not lock and think about storing it.

Cooks similar to the paradigm of older crock pots
Received boxed well with no dents, cracks or otherwise observable defects. Strengths are the size and simplicity of design with a lack of the digital fluff that drives up costs with its added fragility and high failure rates. The previous crock pot in my possession had a digital module that "bubbled out" across the face of the read-out. Yes, it doesn't have a light. Clue: look to see where the knob is turned if you forgot what you were doing after that 4th glass of wine or Jack without the ice. But whether you have a light or not, assuming it hasn't failed, you were going to put your hands on the product anyway, right, without at least a very light touch to test on either the glass or a side for heat? I don't pick up my toaster, toaster oven or egg steamer with bare hands after I finished using it without at least a light touch. There is a simple, ancient and well-tested device, known by many names and cultures throughout the ages, we now call a potholder, which might be indicated for such situations if such handling is necessary. Yes, the cords are short as a safety feature that tries to force you use the crock pot on a counter next to an outlet as far away as possible from small hands and from interference with the cord. Yes, the handles, such as they are, get hot and they are somewhat small (it's not exactly a "portable" device after all and doesn't advertise itself as such), but what I see is without the extra coatings, plastics, bells and whistles, there is very little on this unit to break (or break off) unless you want to perform a drop test or throw it against a wall. For those that complain the crock pot gets hot, I suppose you must have a floor stove that doesn't. Use a timer to shut it off if you are not at home at the end of cook time if that's your major complaint (it's actually safer as it's not subject to heat failures) as suggested by others for those that would have wanted to have the crock pot set the table for them also. All you have to look at is the KitchenAid Crock Pot that was highly rated by America's Test Kitchen as an example of a nightmare waiting to happen for those that like the fancy electronics despite their high failure rates. Here, there may be some things that are inconvenient, but really they're pretty minor when you're looking for something relatively bulletproof with good performance and longevity. I just look at this as a dutch oven that doesn't heat up the kitchen during the summer and saves money if you have an electric stove. I've had both electric and gas and feel a hell of a lot safer walking away from the crock pot for any length of time than either of the stoves with the dutch oven. I understand that a dutch oven may be in theory more precise in terms of even heating over it's entire surface when it's placed inside a stove, but the most I can say IMO is that the differences are minor based on my experience with both. I'll leave that to the Le Creuset upper crust types to argue that out with their 300+ dollar tastes. Here: Marinated 5 pound sirloin tip roast placed at room temperature on low at 5 am...roast 3/4 immersed...broth surrounding roast at 10 am read approx. 140 degrees F. There was good low temperature stability throughout process. At 1:30 pm cooked completely through on the edge of fall apart but could be cut with a fork after slicing. Broth in a meat stew with veggies (one inch cuts) ran at about 150 degrees measured at 4 hours low heat. Not to cause a fight here, but just because there may be some "bubbling" on the surface doesn't in my experience mean "boiling." Heavier liquids seem to do this more and many times I'm not reading anywhere near 212 degrees when I test. Edit: 3/28/22 ...Sometimes I make bad judgments, sometime good and sometimes as in this case a very good judgment. Still working well using it a couple of times each month. Longevity, durability & consistency in operation.
