Admirable lifetime under abuse
I have bought the 3-pack of these blades to dig out the roots of a large weeping cherry tree. The blades spent all of their time buried into the clay dirt, cutting a fairly dense and sticky wood. Right out of the box, the blades are very aggressive and cut wood almost as good as a small electric chainsaw. As you keep working in the dirt, the blades would progressively get duller. Since the teeth on either side do not wear out uniformly, the blade eventually starts vibrating, especially when pinched. This vibration leads to the blade breaking along the weakest point, which happens to be the hole punched in the mounting side of the blade. Since this part is standard across the sawzalls, there is no way to make it thicker or sturdier. I'm still giving these blades 5 starts and here is why: 1. I don't think of anything else that would allow cutting in the dirt for this long and this deep. A chainsaw lasts like 5 minutes before unable to cut anything and needing to be sharpened. These blades last half an hour to an hour. Even dull, they never stop cutting. They go slower, but they still work. 2. By the time a blade breaks, it is usually pretty dull already. It still works, but at this point you are actually looking forward to a new blade. The last of the three blades broke on me while I was sawing the last root, already out of the ground. You can see the complete pile I was able to dig out with these blades in my photos. At this, I am going to buy another pack because I've enjoyed them that much!

Perfect for palms
Hands down the best reciprocating saw blade I’ve ever used. Tackled several overgrown palm trees that normally wreck standard blades in minutes. This Diablo blade tore right through the tough, fibrous boots and thick green fronds without bogging down once. The carbide teeth are super aggressive, tough as nails, and still razor sharp after hours of work. If you have palms or wet landscape trimming to do, don't waste time on anything else.

The best blade for pruning using a reciprocating saw!
Before this blade, I have been using the 12 inch regular pruning saw blade in cutting branches of trees here and there. Branches that range from 3 inches to I think almost as long as the blade. Lately, I find myself tasked with a lot of pruning activities. The basic carbon steel blades will easily dull. The trees I have been attacking were probably of the hard wood family. The sap of those branches was sticky that added to the rapid accumulation of debris in the teeth during cutting, adding burden to the saw. It is not easy to be holding a chainsaw while on an extension ladder high up those branches. So my cutting tool of choice is the cordless reciprocating saw. Fitted with this new blade, cutting time and effort up are reduced significantly...it felt like it cut quicker by half the time. Yesterday, I cut an 9 inch diameter branch with ease... essentially holding the saw with the left hand while my right hand is hanging on to the ladder. I was surprised, impressed and happy with the performance of this Freud pruning blade. Would I buy again? If I had the money, yes, I would definitely do stock up on this specific blade by Freud. But, this was just bought using a gift card given by a generous and kind stranger whom I met at youtube. Otherwise, I would never have realized such a pruning saw blade with high tech characteristics exist. This blade means business. When you need to prune sturdy branches when a chainsaw is not safely doable (like perced on top of a ladder or up on a branch), this blade can certainly do the job done. I will not be able to buy again, but, I highly recommend this for pruning. My only complaint though, the true cutting length is not 12 inches. The tang is already an inch long. When installed in the reciprocating saw, the depth of cut adjusted to maximum, the actual length that is available for pruning is only about 9 1/2 inches, depending on your reciprocating saw model.

These blades will make your job easier!
If you use a reciprocal saw regularly, and you have never used a Diablo Carbide blade, you are missing out on an entirely new experience in what your saw is capable of doing. It is like a different world. Reciprocal saws beat you to death, and really do damage to your arm if you use them all day or for a prolonged period. To minimize this, you have to change your blades often, because a normal blade will dull very quickly in any Recip saw because of the beating it gives them. Also, if you don't use a sharp blade, you will tear up the saw. Diablo claims that their carbide blades stay 50 times sharper than a regular blade. I am not sure if that is quite true, but if it is only half that good, it is a miracle. They do stay extremely sharp compared to regular blades, and they do make cutting much easier than any other blade that I have ever tried. I also hardly ever break a Diablo blade, and I could pave the sidewalk back to my workshop with the regular blades that I have broken. Yes. they do cost a little more, but I have found that in the long run they do last much longer, and they save you so much more time and manpower that it is well worth it. Another tip -- If you are cutting trees, or wood that has a lot of sap or rosin, I use a lot of spray silicone on the blade. It keeps the blade clean and reduces the friction and heat and definitely makes it a lot easier to get the job done without wearing out your arm. By the way, I am just a heavy user of reciprocal saws, and I am not getting paid or remunerated in any way for this review.

Unbeatable Quality for Pruning: The Freud Diablo 12" Carbide Reciprocating Blades
When it comes to the act of pruning, it is essential to have a blade that possesses the necessary qualities to effectively accomplish the task. I can confidently say that the Freud DS1203CP3 Diablo 12" Carbide Pruning Reciprocating Blade surpasses all other blades in terms of quality based on my personal experience. I have had great success using these blades to take down numerous smaller trees behind my house, and they have never let me down. No matter how tough the branches and limbs may be, they effortlessly and rapidly handle them. As time goes on and they are consistently used, it becomes apparent that they begin to exhibit signs of wear and tear. Following a continuous period of about six hours dedicated to pruning, I observed a minor drop in performance. However, to be completely honest, reaching that point requires a significant amount of rigorous and demanding effort. One aspect that I genuinely value about these blades is their ideal length, which makes them versatile for handling a range of tasks, including both thick branches and thinner limbs. The Diablo blade is known for its efficiency, allowing you to typically finish the task in one go. Whenever I need to prune, I always rely on these blades as they have consistently shown their effectiveness. When it comes to purchasing top-notch pruning blades, the Freud Diablo 12" Carbide Reciprocating Blades should be given top priority if you're in the market. The amount of money they cost is completely justified by their quality or usefulness.

Hardy and handy blades. Recommended.
I put these Diablo blades through a lot of abuse and they hold up well. They've handled sapling stumps and even helped me dislodge a stuck chainsaw from a 10" thick tree. Much better price here than HD They tend to snap right at the saw attachment point after awhile, but that might be expected for what I put them through.

Much better than the Milwaukee 12" reciprocating blades
I've been taking down two huge Ficus trees, and removing their roots and stumps. A chainsaw works faster on many big cuts, but the reciprocating saw with these blades offers a lot more control. I've been using Milwaukee 3-teeth-per-inch carbide blades from home depot, but I find these Diablo's to work much better. They clean out the cut much better as the cut proceeds, the cut goes faster, and they don't start vibrating as easily as the competitive blades. Eventually, just like the others, they break off where they mount into the saw, even though the teeth are still cutting well; as others have said, this is just the way it is because of the narrow mount-opening on all reciprocating saws. I find the break-off can be delayed by giving the blade a chance to cool off when it gets really hot. At least these don't break off as quickly as the other blades. I think the truth is, reciprocating saws were never designed to use blades as long as twelve inches. The break-off rarely happens with shorter blades. But I'll keep using these; at $24 for 3 blades, they are a way better buy than the Milwaukee blades.

Blades that do the job - Great Value
I bought the Freud Carbide wood pruning blades based on recommendation. At first I baulked at the price, but as other blades apart from the Bosch 1242 Blades weren't getting anywhere at cutting the roots around a recently removed tree, I gave them a try. They were excellent and very rapidly the combination of blades had cut fresh roots up to 20cm in diameter with very little apparent wear on the blade other than red paint on the cut tree roots. So at the end of the day well worth the money and comparable cost to the Bosch blades. All other blades were useless, I spent more money on them than the Freud 3 pack.

Highly recommend
I haven’t put these blades through the wringer yet but the work well. Carbide tips on other things I’ve used last forever. The videos I’ve seen for these particular blades all have rave reviews. Buy once, cry once.

Diablo by Freud is a well known for build quality and durability. I buy them whenever they go on sale since these aren't cheap but well worth the price.
