Great way to insure reliability of your favorite cheap chinese radio!
I wasn't a fan of Baofeng until I got one, and now it's my favorite radio. Not because it's the best, simplest, or easiest to use, but because it IS so cheap that if I lose it or break it, I'm not out a lot of money. And, I have to say, it does work well. My only beef was the battery life wasn't very good. The extended battery is the perfect answer. While it is just over twice the stock battery in listed capacity, I've had it on monitor mode for two days staight and it's worked fine. I couldn't get over a day with the small stock battery. I also prefer it's size - it actually feels better in my hand than the stock one, and I don't seem to fumble or drop it as easily. It also makes the radio feel a bit more 'legitamate' as a radio rather than feeling like a small plastic childs toy. I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Ordered two, got one without USB-C
I have a small army of Baofengs that I tinker with and use. One thing that always bugged me is the proprietary charging cradle that I needed to lug around for recharging them. With very few exceptions (I'm looking at you Garmin watches and Shokz headphones), I don't buy a device unless it charges wirelessly or via USB-C. This isn't an early 2000's cellphone. Can we get everything on USB-C? I had previously purchased extended batteries that claimed to be USB-C, but they were actually USB-C on the charger end and a barrel connector going into the battery. These batteries looked like a great solution. Not only does it have USB-C on the bottom side, but it has charging indicator lights to visually check charging progress. We recently went through a power outage and luckily, I had these batteries charged up. I didn't talk too much on the radio, but did listen to NOAA weather throughout the 24hr power outage. The batteries lasted throughout. When the power came back on it was very convenient to find a nearby USB-C charger and not have to look for the charging cradle. The only hiccup was that I ordered two of these batteries and one came without the USB-C charging port. and I had to return it. The vendor swapped it out without issue.

The AI lies.
The AI says this won't fit the 8 watt version. It's working just fine. (edit, it physically fits and works, only shows 3 /4 bars. Maybe this way from factory) Haven't used it long, but seems fine for the price, USB port is nice, Imma trust the fact it's in my UK-5R8W and working over the robot. Fits charger like crap, just like the original. Real person, or am I? I'm thinking this is perhaps basically a regular extended battery, with less juice than the 8 watt needs (longevity or weak transmission). Functions fine, transmits, operates on charger. So, I'm ok with that for the price. Subject to change!Returned it. Get a pack with radio's, and these...they end up costing like 5 bux per.

UPDATED--- Careful when you buy...the description is deceiving
The description was deceptive, as stated below, however, not intentionally, I don't believe.I was sent a postage paid return sticker and sent it back and received my refund. The batteries are likely very good...just didn't fit my 5R radio. The BL-5L may be a great battery!!!! I bought two to go with my Baofeng UV-5RM....ordered them when I ordered the radio so I'd have plenty of power. As the description says, they fit the Baofeng 5R series radios.Maybe they DID fit (all) the 5R series of radios at one time...but not even close on the 5RM...which, if I'm not mistaken, qualifies as part of the 5R series.So...they charged up great and when the radio came and I went to put one in...surprise!! No fitty!!!!I have filed for a return (or exchange if the correct ones are available) and hope this has a happy ending and I will update. I've no reason to believe at this point that the company intended to mis represent the product and I'll likely be happy with their solution. Time shall tell. :-)

The right Battery, this BTECH BL-5L 3800mAh Li-ion Battery Pack
I purchased this battery to use with my Baofeng UV-82 Dual-band handheld. It's a perfect battery-pack. It is 2000 more mAh than the original equipment battery, so it will last over twice as long under normal use.Plus, it makes the little radio a lot easier to hold onto and use all of its functions. The convenience of longer use and better hand gripping (especially for old, shaky hands) make it a perfect accessory for your handheld transmitter. The only con to this battery pack is that it still won't make the little UV-82 stand up by itself.I really do like this battery, and highly recommend it for the Baofeng handhelds!

If you use your radio and don't just keep it stashed in your BOB for whatever, You need this!
Came mostly charged, 85%+, charged pretty quickly. Just as a test, I left it on in scan mode for a whole week scanning my list of simplex and repeater's programed in. After a week it was still not dead, but getting there. I also ordered the USB charger cable which was the reason I ordered the battery back, more so than the way extended capacity.. Just as a test, I left it on in scan mode for a whole week scanning my list of simplex and repeater's programed in. After a week it was still not dead, but getting there. I also ordered the USB charger cable (This ability was the reason I ordered the battery back, more so than the way extended capacity..Used the USB charger cable off a dongle on my desk for about 50%, then I took it in my truck and plugged it into the Aux/Cigg lighter plug and charged it more, then I went from the USB port on the truck directly to the radio... All worked perfect. I don't want too go on too much and over do it, but if you really use your radio, this is a must have. Get the Cable too. I'd cover Antennas, but will run outta room.
