Hiroshi's Latte Art and Barista Style

Hiroshi
I've been looking for this book for a while now. Finally found it on Amazon. It is written in Japanese and English, so most of it was readable. Hiroshi is truly an artist. This book is great for the beginner Barista looking to learn latte art. Also great for the seasoned barista just to enjoy. The only thing that surprised me about the book was the size. It was a bit smaller than expected (that's what she said) . A bit pricey? Yes, but for me it was worth it. Very well done.

This book is overpriced for what it is.
There are less expensive books that contain a more thorough discussion of grinding and tamping. On texturing milk there is no discussion of cup size, amount of milk being used vs hole size in steam tip. It assumes that you have considered and solved several variables that are not discussed. The one thing that is does have that I was looking for, is showing the physics of the pouring of the textured milk. Considering the position and angle of the steaming pitcher to sink the milk and float the milk at the right time to get the design you are trying to make is what has given me the ability to make more complex deigns. The price from this seller was 15.00 less than the 60.00 that it retails for normally so I guess one pays what you must to get what you want. The last third of the book is just pictures. What can I say, the front cover is pretty and it does have some good information.

Good book but too expensive
This book has very comprehensive tutorial for making latte art for beginner.Pro: Clear instructions, with very nice diagram.Con: Too little content for the price. I finished reading the whole book in less than 30minutes. Could have a little more variations and details.

Best for Barista
This book works miracles indeed. Very detailed information on how to draw. FYI: this is not a quick fix book, like anything in life, practice makes perfect.

She loved it and said it went into pretty good detail ...
Got this as a gift to a fellow starbucks barista. She loved it and said it went into pretty good detail about how to make the art.

Lacks In-depth Information
Was hoping for a book that would delve deep into latte art techniques, unfortunately this is not that book. Could be useful for beginners but any decently qualified barista will be able to teach the same things much quicker.

Fantastic Book
Really brilliant book for anyone interested in coffee, especially latte art. A smart, concise book perfect for a coffee table, with useful pictures and diagrams of various designs including the whole espresso extraction process. Explanations that go alongside the steps to "draw" the art are slightly poorly worded at points - they have been translated from Japanese, quite literally at times, and some sections are merely left without a translation, but this is just some merchandise towards the end.All in all a really great book with some awesome pictures of free-pour latte art.
