eRapta HD 1080P Backup Camera,AHD Compatible,License Plate Rear View Camera for Car

The camera I installed is not the 1080P I ordered because the radio in my car does not accept "Analog High Definition" (AHD) signal (like most other radios on the market). I did not know this when I ordered the camera, so when I initially installed it the first time, I got a "NO SIGNAL" message on the screen after putting the car in reverse. Nevertheless, I wrote to eRapta and their customer support representative immediately dispatched a 720P camera that she said would work. I received the replacement camera a couple of days later and installed it immediately. I am very happy with the results as the picture is very clear and bright (photos attached). But specially, I am very happy with the support I received from Nicolle, eRapta's customer service representative; she has been following up with me to make sure that I am completely satisfied. And I am. If you are planning on installing a backup camera in your car and use it with your existing radio, DO NOT order a 1080P camera because it will most likely not work. 1080P cameras have to be ordered together with a monitor that will accept the high definition 1080p signal. eRapta has several kits that include high-definition monitors and come with 1080P cameras. Very good products!

Camera did not work defective camera. I installed the camera tried multiple different ways to get the camera to work even tried it on a different vehicle. The camera would not work. Started to go through the return policy and decided that I should not have to jump through hoops to return it so I’ll just write a bad review and order a different camera.

Good camera, responsive customer support; I just received this camera and had some difficulty getting it to connect. eRapta's customer support provided timely and thorough information, camera now works as designed. NOTE: If your display is CVBS only, you'll need to snip the small blue wire at the camera end of the RCA cable to receive the signal at the display end. AND ALSO: CVBS does not receive 1080p resolution, so this camera is overkill for these displays, resolution-wise , but other features might be of interest to you.

The best aftermarket backup camera you can buy. Video quality is wonderful. As an Installer I suggest this product to anyone wanting a camera or system on their vehicles. Plus straight forward instructions if you want to do it yourself. So don't cheap out other cameras buy best that money can buy. You buy the best you get the best.

First of all the description claims to have a quality of 1080p, but in practice it looks very grainy and much closer to 480p. Second and most importantly of all, the item description claims to have IP69 water resistance. For context an IP69 rating entails "To achieve an IP69 rating, devices must pass rigorous testing, including a jet spray test with high-pressure water and a steam cleaning test to ensure they can withstand the harsh conditions without damage.". So one would think that given this rating the camera is water resistant, especially given that this is an outdoor camera that will be exposed to the elements on the outside of your car. However, despite this "IP69" rating on the camera, today on my FIRST time driving in the rain, the camera stopped working altogether. The item description is very misleading and being advertised as "waterproof" is just flat out wrong. All it took was a drizzle and a gust of wind to completely knock this camera out of function. All in all, the camera has stopped working and I'm very disappointed with my purchase. And after trying to get in contact with customer support nobody has the solution, and I lost my money.

(Please read update below.) After all the pains of installation due to the laughable installation instructions (a picture page of the pieces involved with very little relation to reality plus Chinese-English text that pretty much said, “Install here”), the actual camera sends no image to the head unit. Tested all circuits, used CCTV monitor, all wiring of good, camera is DOA. I have contacted eRapta. New: ERapta reached out to me via email. They have refunded the original purchase price and have promised me a replacement camera. I can’t give the product a complete review until I receive the camera, but the customer service is good.

Clear pictures

The product was easy to install, and there are instructions included. But the camera I received only allowed for viewing in 720p when I had purchased the 1080p option. The images include the distorted 1080p video and it works fine when I switch my head unit to 720p. EDIT: Turns out the camera was not compatible with my head unit. Customer service took a little time to reach out, however they were very helpful and willing to add on a compatible system.
