I needed a short length of leather to wrap around the body of my two-point mandolin and attach to my favorite strap made for F5-style instruments. I can use that F5 strap with the loop end on the headstock under the strings between the tuners and nut, but it looks awkward and the strap gets in the way of playing, so that's out. I'm not willing to drill a hole in my instument to add a strap button to the neck support that attaches to the body, so what I need is a leather extrension cord. These approximately three feet long leather strips are a bit too thin individually to trust just one with the weight of my mandolin, so I plan to cut them in half and braid together the three eighteen inch, brown-hued strips for strength, then wrap that piece around the top of the body under the fretboard extension and attach it to my existing strap. It might seem like a lot of work, but I enjoy such crafts and it's far cheaper than buying a new strap. Besides, I like the idea of the multi-hued braid it will make. Hey, it might even look quite nice. ;-)

Not very durable or high-quality, works well for decorative pieces, but would probably snap if used for anything that pulled on it in any way. But the colors are nice, and they were cheap, so I suppose any shortcomings are to be expected.

They are a bit narrower than I thought but worked great for what I needed to fix my purse. They seem strong. Price was great compared to local craft store. I would purchase again.

Leather cords worked perfectly for what I needed. Thick, sturdy, holding up well. I used these to hang stuff, about a couple pounds on each hanger.

Great suede cord for a turquoise pendent that has the chain break. It even got wet and was perfectly fine.
