Rockin' Ringlets

The best my hair has ever looked in my entire life! I have fine hair and use this on clean wet hair. Shake this potion well and apply just a pea sized amount, emulsified over both hands then just smooth it on the outer layers of my hair that are less curly than the inner layers. Then I let it all air dry with a few clips in it, for volume/direction, and it dries frizzy. Then I spray the outer layer with water again and the curls pop again. Then I apply gel (again, just to outer layers) and it’s freaking unreal. I discovered this routine accidentally and now it’s the recipe for the best hair in my life!!! The gel is hard hold, but it’s just sort of holding the hair together in its ringlets, it doesn’t contribute to the look apart from that. The rockin ringlets underneath is doing all the work and it is magic!I avoid/reject most fragrances but I honestly didn’t notice the fragrance at all of the island fantasy. I think I tried the other fragrance and preferred island fantasy. I do love that fragrance free is available if I wanted it.This stuff is freaking magic. I’m in awe. Please never stop making it.Without this stuff my hair is wavy, frizzy, and in comparison to WITH rockin ringlets, I now hate my hair without it. With RR, it is beautiful ringlets with no twisting, curling, or even scrunching. It’s unreal!

3b/3c fine curls | Product used after leave-in and cream applications, when hair is about 75% dry, using praying hands. Also used in small amounts after hair is fully dry to focus on individual curls at crown to address frizz.I’ve been using this product for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. A lot of these reviews are misleading because they don’t appear to know much about the product, their hair, or the science behind frizz.The consistency of this gel is not what most would expect - It’s not the thick, sticky hard stuff made my most manufacturers. Instead, it’s thinner and a bit slimy. The best way to describe the texture is that of aloe gel and flaxseed gel. In fact, if you look at the ingredients, it has both. I make my own flaxseed/aloe gel for my hair so I’m used to the texture but if you’ve never tried either, you might think it’s no good or disgusting.Flaxseed and aloe gel are film-forming humectants great for sealing in moisture. The products you use to style your hair should be based on the dew point (not humidity) - That is what will help to combat frizz. I personally don’t mind frizz because it adds volume to my hair but if you want less, do some research so you know what to use and when. Regardless, depending on your hair type, total control of frizz is just not possible. Another thing to keep in mind is that what works for one might not work for another. There are so many variables that make up a person’s hair so while this product is great for my curls, it might not work for you. That doesn’t make the product bad, just not good for your hair.

I got this in the unscented version to try. It seems effective as an activator, but is very drying feeling. Like I condition the hair, rake this in and it feels like I didn't condition. It seems to eat the leave-in somehow. So conditioner under it and over it, then some gel (but not too much because this does itself have a little bit of hold) and once the hair is dry it feels fine and looks good. Maybe by the end of the bottle I will be used to how it feels, or it will start to actually dry out the hair, but for now I remain undecided. Again, I do find it effective, can see the curls organizing when it is applied.Update - have had a few more tries with this and really do like it. Decided it feels sort of like hairspray, and hairspray does work well for me, so the dry feeling is acceptable and it seems to give the same sort of look. It is working better as a base layer, and only as a curl activator, still needs both gel and conditioner - but so did AG Recoil and this is half the price. So wash or rinse the hair, depending on the day, section and rake this through, moderate amount. Usually with at least some conditioner under it. Leave in conditioner over it, a heavy one, rake or comb all of this until the clumps feel smooth then scrunch scrunch scrunch with hands and then microfiber towel. Then carefully apply gel without disturbing the set (rub it on my hands and gently clap them through the interior of the hair then flip and wipe some on the underneath, scrunch gently while flipped over, then stand back up and wipe some over the outer surface of the hair). Hover diffuse awhile, then more aggressive diffusing, then air dry, then if possible diffuse again. Once it's COMPLETELY dry it does just feel like gel and hairspray, and looks really good. Bouncy as heck, voluminous open curls.Update 2: alas, this did not last. My hair didn't like this as a regular product. Hair got stretched out, less curly, more disordered with continued use Trying the "confident coils", which has more moisture, it's working better for me so far (3 weeks in).

I started the curly girl method just over a month ago. I realized very quickly that my very fine, medium density 2 B/C waves were VERY easily weighed down. I saw a vlogger mention these products were great for fine hair, so I tried them out as a free sample from the JessiCurl site. The very first time I used Rockin' Ringlets (along with Spiralicious), I got my very first ringlet in a section of hair that is ALWAYS 2B and ALWAYS the first to work it's way to straight. My mind was blown, and I was hooked. I've gotten consistently good results since then too. A little bit goes a long way in my hair. The first time I used this, my hair did get a weird texture, but I think it's because I used too much and applied it to damp hair. Watch the videos on the company's website to get Jess's tips. I get my best results when I use this on sopping wet hair as she suggests. I've even noticed my silver hairs starting to curl much better since having used this. I couldn't be happier! I'll also say the packaging is really good. I've ordered from other hair brands where exploded bottles arrive and there is product everywhere to clean up, not to mention lost (which is so frustrating). These come with sealed caps, in boxes that fit snugly to insure they don't explode and your product is preserved. I order the unscented versions of these products and I cannot smell them. I layer them over another brand's conditioner and all I can smell in my hair is that conditioner. All around amazing product.

My hair is coarse (according to my hair dresser), wavy in front and curly in back, and very frizzy. I had hoped this serum would tame the frizz and define the curls. It defined the curls slightly. There was slight crunch after drying even though i used the amount recommended, but this wasn't a problem because it softened when I ran my fingers through my hair. But this product didn't help the frizz at all...before i even left the bathroom (which was not humid and very well ventilated), my hair was frizzing up. Additionally, it completely covered up the shine of my clean hair so that it looked dull. I had to spray some dry oil on it to make it look clean. Clearly it's a great product for some hair types, but not for mine.

Here is my review after trying itFirst minus points on the bottle. the bottle has a Press lid thing but instead i had to take the whole thing out and pour it that way because it's blocked for some reason, or it got stuck i guess idk. next the look of it and the smell once it was time for me to use this product. it looked disgusting. it smells bad. also It was like mixed with two different liquids or consistencies... It was really old or something? Distributing this is weird 'cause it's so runny. Well i used this with the spiralicous gel on top, which it recommends to do. i will just say i do like the spiralicous gel. in this case i got me some frizz but i didn't use a leave in or cream first which makes sense because neither of these two are hydrating as far as i know. At least not from my results. but i don't really want to use a leave in + this + spiralicous, i would just use my leave in and the spiralicous gel and avoid using so many products, don't really see the point of this product.i also wish there were pictures so i can confirm this color is normal lol.

I absolutely adore this!! I’m usually not a good curl mama (I shampoo my hair every day and don’t use any curl products). I had asked ChatGPT what the best hair product was for after showering that wouldn’t weigh my hair down and I highly recommend this one. So I checked to see if it was EWG verified and it was a 1 (for those of you who don’t know this is a very good rating and is hard to find for hair products). I was very excited so I bought the 2 oz size to try it out. It left my curls soft and shiny with no frizz!! I highly recommend putting this in your hair after your shower and then using a Denman brush to style it! This product looks like it might not work at first but turns out to be magical!

I’m in the process of embracing my “new” natural hair - gray and curly - so it’s been a bit of a challenge finding products that work for me. Also, I’ve had sinus cancer, so many fragrances give me horrible headaches. I tried Rockin Ringlets Potion, no fragrance, based on the reviews and - voilà! - perfection!I have 3A/B hair and it’s very heavy. Even though it’s still very short, I needed a little extra hold so I topped the RR with a gel.I used the Rockin’ Ringlets on wet hair - not dripping wet, though - and raked it through with a wide-toothed comb, leaned over and scrunched gently with a microfiber towel (NEVER use terry cloth!) I let the RR sit on my hair while I brushed my teeth, started my makeup, etc. (maybe 10 - 15 minutes) then I scrunched again with my hands - no towel - using Spiralicious Styling Gel, and diffused.The attached pic is immediately after drying so there is a little cast that needs to be scrunched out and “fluffed.” As my hair continues to grow, I think I’ll end up with beautiful curls and ringlets using these products.As I mentioned, I have problems with most fragrances and this product has zero fragrance - none. Rockin Ringlets potion is brown and watery, so expect that ... it’s different. Shake really well to mix it up before each use.

I love this product and use it with the gel before I get out of shower, then I diffuse dry upside down.

Had it 2 days & just subscribedI notice the negative reviews are about broken bottles or a product that seems to have gone off.I can assure you this product although brown in colour , does not smell off or leave a residue. Those reviews were clearly for a defective product or fake. Just try this for yourself & see

I've been using this product on my fine, thin, curly hair for almost 13 years. I combine it with a tiny bit of Confident Coils and scrunch it into my wet hair, which I then let air-dry. Once my hair is bone dry, I scrunch out the tiny bit of crunch that is left behind with clean, product-free hands, and fluff my way to as much volume as I can. It's been my 'holy grail' product for so long, I don't know what I'd do without it, I buy a 32 oz each year..
